kkcbelle - 2012-07-07 3:16 PM Finishing up a tour of the half bike course w/Linda, Jeff, and Zach. There is a lot of resetting of expectations going on... It is a tough, tough course. Yikes. Otherwise, life is good!!!!

What makes it so tough?

The fact that she hasn't ridden a bike in 2 months!

from her fb.

"For circumstances out of my control I won't be on the start line this morning. The sun came so I'm very sure it's not the end of the world, just triathlon..."

thats two rev3 races in a row.  sucks.

What a great weekend! Had so much fun with Kyla and Julia! Super tough Half, and Kylas was amazing! Julia had a great race, second in her AG. She had left - and they wouldn't give me her prize! I also got a second - small AG! Zach beat Jeff, and they had Zach give Jeff his medal Very cool.We ALL handled our minimal biking well, I'd say!!

Home. Alive. Tired. Sunburned. Hungry. Satisfied.

Looking forward to a little slack-fest.

But mostly right now looking forward to the rest of my burrito (giant burritos for post-race food = awesome!) and a shower more thorough than the kid's play area whereby I was cleansed by kids (not mine) so thrilled to pummel an adult. Enjoyed that park's water feature tremendously.

Tough course. Warm swim. Crazy bike through 35.5 miles. Hot run. Happy.

Awesome job guys and gals in Portland!  Sounds like everyone put in a solid race.  I love the Rev3 races.  Just signed up for Rev3 Williamsburg last night.  Price goes up tonight.  Any East Coasters want to join me?  I know it is a pretty tame course by this groups standards but I like tame.  :-)  Anyway race day is June 23.

funny.  i was looking at the race last night.  thinking this or eagleman.  leaning more towards this.  and now that i know tony will be there.. HELL YEAH, i get to harass him in person again!!!!  haha.

i'll talk to jarrett and see whats up.  i like this idea because of the history lessons coupled with vacation coupled with the race.

and just in case it does work out.... i'm gonna crush you.

I think the Rev3 event will be more fun, probably a lot less crowded, I would imagine both venue's will be hot, flat and fast.

Eagleman has jellyfish.  Williamsburg has all of the fun historical stuff very close by (Jamestown settlement is literally across the street if they stick to the same SetUp start/finish) plus Busch Gardens and Water Country just down the road.

And it could be a nice practice for Ironman Williamsburg 2014 ?!?!?!  There's a group trying really hard to get that deal done.

Ha!! On the last part of the bike course, where it's a flat out-and-back (and it was hot), I was having fun!! Well, I had fun the whole time, but it's much more satisfying to go 20mph rather than 3. Yes, I was in the 3's on many of the hils.

FWIW, my family LOVED LOVED LOVED the Rev3 race. Granted, they really spent the day playing with friends and came to the race site late (w/my blessings and per my suggestion... I don't think it's worth it for them to see me for 3 seconds here and there and then to be bored in between). But the site was awesome and they played in the lake with friends and enjoyed the small vibe and atmosphere and finishing with me. Funny, Dave missed the finish because he thought I wasn't coming for awhile yet and he had just gone to the bathroom when I appeared. Shea almost didn't make the run with me because she was slow to realize what was happening and then was yelling, "Mom, wait up!!!" I told her "Shea, hurry up!! I'm not waiting!" Ha!

Body feels like I was run over by a truck. Much, much, much more sore than an IM race. Go figure.

LOL, when my kids jumped out at Knoxville last year I was spent and my brain wasn't working well, I sort of slowed down, ran with my son but we left my daughter in the dust.
