Ha talk about a difference.....I'm doing my 1st Oly on Saturday....The weather is supposed to be 25C(mid 80's), and I'm hoping it cools down for it. | |

I can't see the picture here at work. I don' t have facebook or whatever it is....But let me say this.....If she is as cute as her grandpa(yes i have a secret man-crush on someone here) then she is a keeper!  Edited by TrevorC 2009-06-15 3:48 PM |

I think it is a requirement! I love the smile! Chris, great job on that long bike ride. Now you can remember with a smile when you thought a 20 mile ride was a big deal. Barry - I hear ya man. My first olympic I was dead last in my age group for the swim and run and second to last on the bike. But you know what, I crossed that finish line and didn't care, same as you. You did fantastic and keep plugging away. I can't believe Steve and Roni raced in a freezing hail storm! That makes 3 swbkrun MG members who have raced in hail. What is with you people?! In a few weeks John will be going to the opposite extreme and racing in triple digit heat. We are a group of extremists thats for sure. |

The top two guys were seperated by 2 seconds. Must have been acool sprint to the finish. As well the girl who finished 6th is Janelle Morrsion from Calgary!! She just turned pro. She is a school teacher here. Or I guess was a school teacher now. 5:28 for Steve. Good work...and now Roni............... Check out all the pictures... Pretty sweet... http://www.idahostatesman.com/258/gallery/801742-a801788-t2.html |

| Pro 4100 Wherever the trail takes me, WA. | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! John- Nice Artwork.  That was great. Suzy- No you CANNOT ride with a triple. Also, nicely done on your race last weekend. Next year let's go for a 1st place, and a negative split on the run ! Tracy- You have the perfect excuse to ramp up your training now! Get out of the house! !  Hubby has to understand! Rob- She's a cutie! Tony- For this great week I have a few ice baths on the menu, a massage (tonight, which is going to hurt like an S.O.B) and a nice little 100 mile Livestrong ride with 4000 feet of climbing (dusting off the ole' road bike for this one).... Going to be tough, but not nearly as hard as what people with cancer have to go with, so I am ready to tackle it head on (it just may take me a couple hours longer!). | |

On Sunday I was doing my run and I was dive bombed by a blackbird, right on top the head. Good thing i was wearing a hat. There I was runnig down the road whipping away with my hat defending myself. I realized after my escape that I never even broke stride. Talk about muscle memory. |

| Expert 1010 Greer, SC | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN Mentor Group-Closed! TIME TO TRAIN! Well, it turns out that I am probably racing this weekend.  There are two races within an hour this weekend and next.  I planned on deciding on Wed. or Thurs, but if I can work out the details, my decision has been made.  I already have a committment next weekend so, it looks like I might be racing sooner than later.  (It's just a sprint - 500m, 11m, 5K).  I don't really like sprints because I am not a fast runner, but I figured it would give me a chance to practice transitions. | |

Its one of Keith's races so you know how that goes. Its a blast! A little bit later in April next year so a little bit warmer. Flat course but plan on some wind. This year the 1/4 and half were on Sunday. Next year its shortened to an OLY and is w/ the sprint on Saturday. Crowd should be very good for both. Hotel is on the property and you can walk to everything on the property. You'll need a car otherwise. Galveston itself should be in better shape next year. We were still dealing w/ the leftovers form Ike this year. Kiddo's... The water park, on the property, should be open next year for the race. And its a real waterpark... not some hotel gibberish. Plus the pyramid aquarium and rainforest. I give two thumbs up. I'll be happy to put you guys up if you stay in Houston. Just pack your drinkin' shoes and don't eat for like three weeks before you come. Post or pm me w/ other questions... |

Apparently he will give you a discount for that feat! |
