Way to break the barrier man!

KelliD - 2010-03-18 3:26 PM SWEET!!  Congrats on an awesome ride!

Houstonrider - 2010-03-18 4:22 PM Today was a big day for me as far as training goes...... Averaged 21.1 mph on a solo training ride, neighborhood, lights, stop signs, and wind but the barrier was finally broken. It was only a 20 mile ride but I was very pleased.

Kuota Kaliber or Kuota Kueen-K

I'm bringing my seat/pedals tomorrow and seeing which fits better. I have a feeling Kueen-K is going to be the match (closest to current dimensions) but we shall see...

Houstonrider - 2010-03-18 3:31 PM Supportive wives/fiances are the best! So what are you looking at now?

evondo - 2010-03-18 2:07 PM Ya no kidding, normally everyone's begging the wife for permission but she's forcing me in this case cause there's no way I'd spend this much $$ otherwise. I'm getting excited though, fit is tomorrow evening

Nicole83 - 2010-03-18 1:14 PM Not that you didn't already have enough reasons to marry that girl, but here's another one.

evondo - 2010-03-18 1:18 PM Went to the bike store to get them to build me up the green QR (aka the flying pickle) but my friend told me hell no that bike won't work for me.  Boils down to 2 issues, he said even though the BB area has a lot of support the rear carbon was weak and that's where the flexing comes from since all torque is bottom of rear wheel.  Other issue he said was the rear brake has all sorts of issues and I already have tons of rear brake issues so that'd be a disaster for me.

I was going to put the new bike search to bed since that was the cheapest bike available to me but Betsy said no. So a couple other bikes are in the works now, have to see how the fit goes...

Right arm correct but pull not what I was working on...

HINT: Happens once in the sideways video, hard to tell from front angle.

Houstonrider - 2010-03-18 3:19 PM Evondo,

I have no idea what you would work on, but I'll guess that your right arm was going a little wide on the pull?

Just a guess but what do I know?????

Thought I would share with everyone my new method of getting my heart rate up.  At midnight while wondering the house sick this is what I came upon.  I was a little baffled as to what to do at first so of course I went and got the camera.   I think it is a bark scorpion but not 100% sure.  Can anyone tell?  My research last night had me going to between two different kinds.

Trying on was...mmmm...fun. Haha. It wasn't too bad, but I did work up a pretty good sweat for sure. Of course the first size I tried didn't fit, so I got to do it all over again. But, yes, I understand the importance of being well hydrated when you try one on...and maybe I should have skipped the run in the evening. Laughing

Nicole83 - 2010-03-18 1:13 PM YAY!

My wetsuit is a sleeveless one too.  Since most of the races I do are barely wetsuit legal because of the temps down here, it's been perfect for me.

How was the trying on process?  If it was anything like mine, you skipped your workout that day because it was a wokrout in and of itself.

roadrhino - 2010-03-17 8:52 PM I'm in for another year... just renewed my USAT membership for the season. Also made the trek to get the wetsuit today. Went with the sleveless. Hoping I'll be able to handle some OWS pretty soon...ready to give it a try!

How gross!  I hate anything that falls into the creepy crawly category especially if it can bite or sting you!  I have no idea what kind it is.  you're way braver than me I would've been running away screaming for James to come kill/get rid of it!

Haha that's when you get your neighbors to do it!! Last year there was a huge spider in my apartment and neither my roommate nor I would go near it.  We noticed our neighbor was outside and just asked him to kill it for us.  Yep I know what you are thinking I really am a big baby when it comes to creep crawly critters.  I get it from my mom she once sprayed Raid (the roach killer stuff) in my dads eyes because she was so scared of the cockroach and dad didn't get out of the way fast enough!

Nothing to offer for consideration.  I would take this stroke and be a very happy girl.  Sigh.

KelliD - 2010-03-18 4:29 PM I don't know either.  But it reminds me that I need to get my head lower in the water.

Cool video.

evondo - 2010-03-18 3:47 PM I put two videos of my swim session online if anyone's interested. Anyone want to take a guess as to what I was working to improve?

My right arm dives a little bit when I start going faster. It is very visible ~7s into the side video.

That would not be fun to find in the house.  The sting of one of those things hurts like hell...I was stung by a small when when I was younger.

BTW http://www.sportsscientists.com/ has a very good in-depth write up on barefoot running...

Kevin- You still liking your Vibrams? I've noticed you've done a good job easing them into the routine and not overdoing it which is something that article suggests as well.
