Master 1623![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!Happy Friday!! Got some yoga planned for later this afternoon. This weekend should fly by for me. I'm babysitting tomorrow for some family friends and then Sunday it's back up to Clemson. In a way I'm ready to get back because I want to see everyone but I'm not looking forward to the insane amount of work that I have to do in April. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |

Averaged 21.1 mph on a solo training ride, neighborhood, lights, stop signs, and wind but the barrier was finally broken. It was only a 20 mile ride but I was very pleased. Sweet! Extreme Veteran 521![]() | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!Happy Friday! A little melancholy here because spring break is almost over. I was really enjoying not having to get up at 4:00am to run! On tap today is a haircut and a 30' spin. Saturday is relatively easy with 2600 in the pool and another 30' spin. Sunday is a different story...A brick is in store... 3 1/2 hours on the bike with a 45 minute run. No idea where the heck I am going to ride around here for 3 1/2 hours...yet another reason why I can't get excited about the bike these days. I will definitely take a look at some of those other sites and blogs. I don't really have a comprehensive list to share, but I do enjoy Mirinda Carfrae and her occasional tweets. |

Payson, AZ | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!I have an interesting weekend planned. Trisports is leading a ride up Mt. Lemmon this Saturday so I am thinking I might join. It's weird driving to the start of a ride that would actually be the same miles from my house... I am not sure this is a sane choice for a ride given the shortness of all my other rides and the insane climbing that this ride has, but oh well. Tina is refusing to let me back out of it. Sunday I am heading off to some desert museum somewhere or other to look at something or other. Plus a 2 hour run in there. So I am not sure I'll do too much on top off all that. I am starting my two weeks of on call (first week backup) so things will be pretty tame for a bit, especially next weekend. I don't ready to many tri blogs, but you ever need some HTFU motivation check this one out. http://arcticglass.blogspot.com/ |

If you haven't been out there already, check out Noodle's video of the 100 miles of nowhere ride. Very cool video. evondo - 2010-03-19 8:42 AM BTW http://www.sportsscientists.com/ has a very good in-depth write up on barefoot running... Kevin- You still liking your Vibrams? I've noticed you've done a good job easing them into the routine and not overdoing it which is something that article suggests as well. evondo - 2010-03-19 7:39 AM Not sure if we've already done this in this group or not... Payson, AZ | Subject: RE: Evondo's Group - CLOSED!Man, peer pressure. OK, I give, I'll do the Lemmon ride, even though I am painfully shy and hate meeting new people. But I am whining to you all when I am incredabily sore from biking too much. I do have to go find some new peeps to hang out with, especially since Tina got her schedule and is gone near all of April. Still have friends I can call if something happens on my long rides but I'd rather be with someone during any issues I guess. Interesting thing at the pool today. Guy in the lane next to me goes "Oh, you swim with a Walkman?" to which I replied that I did cause it made the laps go by much faster, but I could not resist making fun of the fact he called it a Walkman. I haven't heard that term in a long time. |

There's something so awkward about being an adult and going out and trying to make friends... but group rides and runs and whatnot have made it a bit easier for me. I like that you instantly have something in common with everyone, and I also like that you really don't have to talk all that much. Walkman. Hehehe. I remember when only the cool kids had walkman tape players in elementary school. We weren't allowed to have them so we hid them in our backpacks until lunch time. And then they invented the portable cd player. I even had a little fanny pack style belt that you could put it in so you could bring it to the gym with you. Man, technology has come a long way huh? bzgl40 - 2010-03-19 2:13 PM Man, peer pressure. OK, I give, I'll do the Lemmon ride, even though I am painfully shy and hate meeting new people. It was great lol I think it was a way from us to be semi entertained on our 8 hour rides to our summer house in Sweden. bzgl40 - 2010-03-19 2:13 PM Man, peer pressure. I'm late to way in here but I vote to go, have fun and enjoy the start of spring. I'm looking forward to getting out a little on the bike this weekend. Nothing long, just getting outside and trying to decide if I'm healthy enough to race next weekend. My husband and I are hosting a belated St. Patty's Day party this weekend, there will be plenty of stew, Guinness and music for jigging. It's our once a year chance to reconnect with our Irish roots. I hate people in general. I find that booze helps. (the next day I am not so sure) Had a lucky break today and got to duck out of work early and get in a ride/run. and as I was going back into the change room I walked by the pool and there was a lane wide open and sun shining on it like ..... something poetic i guess. So I had to have a fw laps until someone else came and started swimming too. |
