![]() ![]() | ![]() arrrghhhhhhhhh. So frustrating. What is wrong with me? Everytime I make any progress I gain it all back. This week I am back up to 155.4. Its tough because I definitely made some bad decisions, but I also made lots of good decisions and exercised. I think my biggest problem is actually my boyfriend. We had a conversation about it last night, so hopefully it will be fixed. We are long distance so when he is here (like he was last weekend) we like to eat out some, and go out. This weekend the alcohol calories probably killed me, as I had not been drinking at all lately. Then we went for a great 2 hour hike on Sunday. Really challenging. But afterwards we ordered french fries. He is too indulgant with me and says things like you worked out hard, you deserve it. Not to entirely place the blame elsewhere I of course am all too ready to agree that I deserve it. Anyway, this bad weight is left over from the weekend I am sure. I guess all I can do is get back on track. On a more positive note last night I ran 6 miles, which is the most I had gone in a while. I need to do more of that. |

Master ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() i146q - 2008-03-12 12:49 AM Alright!!! I fingered it out, and I've posted 7 pix in my 'albums' folder. Everybody take a look and let me know if abbie was just pulling my chain... ("turning into stone" ![]() ![]() Thanks for posting the pics, Josh. You look awesome! Congrats on your determination to to do the program and on the results! I wondered if the results they show in those before and after photos were real, and judging by your progress they are definitely real. |

I guess all I can do is get back on track. On a more positive note last night I ran 6 miles, which is the most I had gone in a while. I need to do more of that. I completely understand what you're going through. I married someone who is naturally skinny and can eat anything he wants to without gaining an ounce. In the past, if he was having ice cream or whatever, he would always ask if I wanted anything. If I would say no, he would manage to talk me into having some. Or he will dump half a bag of potato chips onto a plate and eat them in front of me. Rarely was there a time when I didn't reach over and have a handful or more. Part of the blame was his and part of it was mine. He was to blame for not taking no for an answer. Part of it was mine for not screaming no from the rooftops when he was asking. But I think it's good that you have had the conversation with your boyfriend. It's very important that you two are on the same page about this subject. |

Extreme Veteran ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() 147 today.. up 2 lbs from last week. Been like this all winter. BUT, tired of it, so today I start a food journal again and pay more attention to what goes in my mouth. How can you do 12 wkouts a week and gain weight? Frustrating. |

![]() Crazy is good! Sounds like I've found the right place. So, starting out today I'm at 157. I've been attempting to lose "on my own" with intermittent success. I'm dealing with some lingering health issues that weight loss will help (if not solve) -- so I am VERY motivated. My goal for March -- 3 pounds in 2 weeks. I'm thinking about having the skin fold BMI test done so I have a better idea about how my body is changing from my training even when the scale doesn't move....but how accurate are they? |

Last week I started carrying a gallon of water with me and have been making myself finish the gallon before I leave work, its actually been really easy. Much easier than I expected. (pause to take another drink ![]() |

Member ![]() ![]() | ![]() i146q - 2008-03-12 1:45 AM Don't worry about a gym membership. What you need, as I suspect your already keen on, is a schedule! P90 is a 90 day in-hame bootcamp that trains all muscle groups including core and endurance strength, while promoting fat loss through extensive workouts. There fun, but honestly even level 1-2 kicked my butt. It's fairly cheap, and even comes with a resistance band that I still use vs. free weights. It was all under $60 I think. The commercials are highly motivating, but the results are ACCURATE. The only thing is you need to be honest with yourself, and do the planned workouts. It also comes with a meal program. Which I don't really follow, but always helps for recipes... I looked it up and it doesn't really give me too much info. I'm definitely interested, but haven't seen commercials or ever heard of it before. Do you mind giving us a quick breakdown, clif notes version? how many days a week strength, and for how long... same for cardio, etc. thanks man! |

BUT, tired of it, so today I start a food journal again and pay more attention to what goes in my mouth. How can you do 12 wkouts a week and gain weight? Frustrating. I Totally get this. I got down to 146 (goal is the 138 - 140 range) then popped back up to 151 within a few weeks - grrrrrr - . that's why i joined this group. I think I was eating "wrong" kind of starving myself of carbs - I started scaling back on the "big" meals, eating smaller more balanced (i think) portions thru out the day - and refueling after workouts - which is probably a no brainer to most of you, but I wasn't doing it. That seemed to help in the last couple of weeks, but we'll see... Hang in there. |

I'm thinking about having the skin fold BMI test done so I have a better idea about how my body is changing from my training even when the scale doesn't move....but how accurate are they? If crazy is good then we are fantastic! There's quite a few peeps here that use a scale that measures weight and body fat. I've been thinking of getting one of those, too. Although it's probably not a completely accurate measurement of body fat, sailing stresses that even thought the number itself might not be exact, you will be able to see the change over time. I haven't been seeing any movement on the scale lately, but clothes are fitting differently and I'm firming up in various places, so I know that there's something going on. By the way, sailing loves veggies and would appreciate any kind of new and exciting recipes you might have. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() Last: 262 This: 261.5 Ok, a 1/2 pound is a 1/2 pound but I want it to be more dagnabit. I guess at least it is lower than it was last week - flirting with the 250's, hopefully next week I'll be there but I guess we'll see. I was checking out FitTV and they have all these exercise programs on - I did a belly dancing one last night, it was fun and different, and I'm actually feeling it a bit today. (More in the glutes than anywhere else - cause they do these knee bent poses.) Probably means I need to add some lunges and etc. to my core routine. |

Elite ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ![]() i146q - 2008-03-11 10:47 PM cadreamer - 2008-03-11 10:05 PM p>Cookies are evil. If you fell to the cookie, I hope you enjoyed it immensely... Oh, and get rid of those clothes that are too big, unless you want to be wearing them again at some point. If you don't, subconsciously you're telling yourself that you're going to need those sizes again. Just a thought. Yes they are... And that's a good idea, I never thought of it in those terms (getting rid of unwanted clothes) Maybe donate them right?
Yeah, that's what I do. I mean, if they are trashed, toss them, but decent - there's lots of places that would like them. And WOW - you are getting BUFF. No wonder you're not losing much weight - looks like you're converting it all into muscle. |

New user ![]() | ![]() I didn't get on the scale this morning, but will weigh in tomorrow...so I'll be a day late. I worked out like crazy at the gym today, I'm sure hoping that the scale results are good! I'll keep you posted. I am going to start a food journal tomorrow. I've never kept one but I think it will be helpful for me. Great job everyone!! ![]() |

I know we have all been conditioned by "THE SCALE", but as some of you have found your body is changing and it takes a while for the scale to catch up.
