Master 1675 Suwanee, Ga. | Subject: RE: Team Lively Lava owl_girl - 2008-04-01 12:11 PM Good morning Hotties!!!! (And that's no April Fools joke either!!!!) I have a bit of time to introduce myself, too. I loved reading about everyone! Anyway, I'm going on my third season of triathlon racing. I've always been a runner. I didn't even know how to swim prior to my first tri. (I took lessons before my first one.) I'm starting to enjoy swimming. It is really hard for me, though. Cycling is fun! I'm looking forward to getting outside a little more. (It rains an aweful lot here in northern CA and I hate my trainer.) I just recently got married. We have three big dogs and two spoiled cats. As for my work life, I'm a personal trainer and a wildlife biologist so I end up working out a lot when I'm not training. I am also training for my first HIM on June 1!!!! I'm getting excited......and nervous! I do lots of other running races and triathlons throughout the year. I'm looking forward to both a metric century and a half mary in the weeks before my HIM. Oh!!!! I love Chuck, too!!!!! Congrats on the wedding...last time we were teammates you were still in the planning stages. Hope things are going well. oh...and team...you need to see the pictures of just where this lady trains......WOW. If the beauty doesn't make you want to get out and do something please have someone check your pulse...because you are already dead. Edited by Reno8 2008-04-01 1:10 PM |

Member 16 | Subject: RE: Team Lively Lava Ok, intro. My name's Katie, I'm from Philly, and I work in a biology research lab. After I graduated college I wanted to get back into shape, and since I think going to the gym is boring, I decided I needed something to train for - I started doing 5K races, and I'm doing my first tri this June. I started playing ultimate last year too, after my friends introduced me to it - the new season just started, yay! Hopefully this challenge will help me balance the multiple areas of workouts, which I haven't quite gotten the hang of yet. And I'm really impressed by the crazy posting speed - first day of the month and I think this thread's already longer than my last team's entire challenge output. |

TinkerBeth 23096 Liverpool, New York | Subject: RE: Team Lively Lava Reno8 - 2008-04-01 1:04 PM Hey all..new teammates as well as old. I am Steve. 55 y.o. retired Firefighter/Paramedic in a busy department just east of Atlanta. Married 33 years last month and have 3 I have competed in something most all of my life (baseball, football diving, softball) and I have been a runner for years until back problems a few years ago stopped that. A great chiropractor and some hard work have gotten me back to where I need to be so I am training for my first Tri in June. I have done several road races (running) this year and will do my first marathon next January at Disney. Even though I was a diver in college and a life guard in my teens…I hate to swim…not hate the water, just hate to swim for distance so that is going to be the biggest hurdle for me. I love the Challenges as they are a great motivator for me and I hope I can keep up with the pace of my what's football diving?

Extreme Veteran 597 New Joisy | Subject: RE: Team Lively Lava aliclimb - 2008-03-31 7:44 PM I suppose I better introduce myself too. I'm currently a physical therapy student switching careers from research science. I did a few Danskin women's triathlons when I was in grad school in Colorado and had a blast. Since moving back to Nebraska, I had to find something to do since climbing and skiing were not as accessible, so I got back into tri last summer. Last year I completed one sprint and did the bike leg on a team that included lastcall2003. This year I'd like to do both those triathlons, along with a marathon (or two, I'll find out about the 2nd tomorrow). I squeeze most of my training in around classes, which isn't too bad. I'm having more of a problem getting in the swimming and riding along with the marathon training....thus the incentive to join the challenge! Oh, and I'm amazed at all the moms on our team! I just barely keep up with a dog and a cat. Wow isn't it cool to have a physical therapist on the team....Just think of all the questions we can get answered...like do I really have to stretch before I run? |
