Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge I see the sports med doc Monday afternoon. I worked with her husband when he was rotating into the ER a year or so ago...I was in charge the day of a local half mary and he was on. It was hotter than all get out racers referred to the race as the Patrick Henry death march....dropped like flies all day. We had 3 or 4 of the racers in one taken off the course with undr half a mile to go. (he was the worst, wound up being admitted overnigh fo rhabdo) Anyway, I have heard mixed thngs about her but figure it's worth a shot. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge kromanowski - 2008-11-06 2:05 PM So I have to share my good news with someone and no one in my family is anwering their phones so you all get to hear about my recent blood tests... I was diagnosed with diabetes in July and since then have been on a major diet and have upped my workouts (I had started trying to get back in shape in February, but ramped it up when I was diagnosed...see my signature for my take on the matter). IT feels so good to see all the hard work have a very concrete effect Today (July) Cholesterol 160 (181) HDL 41 (33) Triglycerides 62 (164) LDL 107 (115) HA1C% 7% 10.9% Fantastic. and you give me hope. My numbers have been bad since July and Hubby and I have started a diet. 6 lbs down, many more to go, but I am going to stick with it. It does help that he too is doing it so that we are not cooking two different meals each night. Thanks for the hopefull outlook. |

Elite 3595 Quebec, Canada | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge I was wondering this morning. Since i can't run yet do you guys thing that the walk/run program can count as workout for the challenge? Since it's kinda on the easy side I wasn't sure. Probably not, but I wanted to ask before doing anything to make sure Not that I need it to get my 5 workouts of the week, but I was wondering if I should count it on the spreadsheet tomorrow or not. As far as today goes, I woke up late since I had something yesterday night and I kinda came back home late ... so I will run tonight and then ride the trainer a bit before diner |

We should probably check in with Travis. I agree it should qualify. You are doing what you can coming back from an injury and that's hard enough in and of itself. Just because it may be a little slower and easier than someone else's "run" doesn't mean you are not working at it and gaining the benefits |

Expert 1157 Tremonton, Utah | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge I'm not absent team -- just been busy.... But I've got my 5 for the week in... No just got to get them on the spreadsheet. Sounds like this dedicated team is full of injuries.... but we find way's to make our workouts. That's dedication! Me -- got troubles with an ankle that are driving me nuts. But I'm stil finding ways to get a workout in. I thnk I'll focus on the pool for the next several days. Will screw up my distance goals for running for the month, but I got to get these legs better. I may get a couple bike rides in though. Just have to see how it goes. Keep truckin gang!

Master 1726 Sacramento, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge AHh I feel great after my rest day yesterday...just what I needed. I didn't get out of work till late but at least I got to just go home and veg. Tonight I am planning to go for a run...trying to decide how long to go for...I am in between training plans so I am kind of winging it...I guess 2.5-3 miles as I am planning on doing 5.5-6 tomorrow. I have already got my 5 this week so this will be a bonus. Does any one know how we count tomorrow? A seven day stretch from the beginning of the month would go through Friday night, and Saturday should count as next week, but the cut off says that it is 11/8 so does that mean that the first week had 8 days and the subsequent one will have 6? |

I think tomorrow is still for this week. There is 30 days in November and if I'm interpreting the spreadsheet right Travis has the weeks split into 8 days, then 7, then 7, then another 8 for a total of 30. I would take advantage of the first and last week for that bonus point. |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge All weeks are good for bonus workouts 8). I'll get my 6th in tonight, 6 ish mile run. I sooo wish I had access to a pool, perhaps by Christmas I will.... Our town voted to not build an indoor pool facility because it would cost every household $25 a year in taxes. The govt was donating 4 million to the project, but our local idgets said no thanks $25 is way too much to be taking out of my pocket!!! Nearly enough to make me move, sigh. They would rather have their kids out smoking dope and collecting babies and diseases than have an option for supervised athletic activities. Unfortunately.. rain forcast for the entire weekend again (3rd week in a row). Well there might be some some and some rain, but generally unfriendly for my long ride. I really don't want to do 50 miles on the trainer 8(, but I am not going out if there may be ice patches. Edited by Baowolf 2008-11-07 10:13 AM |
