From those pics I thought maybe he was a homeless guy you had taken in and were giving a place to stay. Especially when compared to the well-put-together, classy broad in the other pics. Night and day, crude oil and and fresh water... You'll find much better. |

Ok, you've been struggling with mental illness. Certain types of mental illness - including bipolar - tends to attract other people with mental issues. So you can't blame your rational mind - blame your brain chemistry. Its not your fault. I *know*. I was married to a BPD for almost 10 years, and it was a living hell the last 5 or so. Get your brain straight... if you need pizza, either go the self-service route for a while, or insist on a raincoat with NSA. It means the world to me that you and Geoff would say it's not my fault. I have very little self-respect left right now, so it does help. The best way to attract non-psychos is to HAVE self-respect. People like that HAVE none so they tend to want to hook up with people that they see as easy to manipulate, even if its not conscious on their part. That's a really wise thing to say, and I will take it in stride. In the (very tiny) retrospect I have now, I can see how that lack of self respect made me easy to manipulate. |

Scott, That is probably one of the wisest things I've heard you say. Well put my friend. Yanti, he is right. Self-respect and confidence breeds the same and repels the opposite. I know it is easier said than done. Trust me, I used to be a relatively shy guy before I went to college. Even after college, I still didn't have a ton of self-esteem. I still have to work on it now. But all that being said, when I started to be more confident and self assure, those that were around me that weren't, either improved or were out of my life. Not because I exluded them, but they excluded themselves. I was no longer a dumping ground for their issues, and more importantly, I was no longer easily manipulated. You are a wonderful person. We know it. It is just a matter for you to start knowing it. Love ya darlin'. |
