I was a little behind through Sunday, but since Dr. King gave me the day off I rode >40, to put me at 71% of goal with 68% of the month gone. If the weather cooperates (and it hasn't yet this month), I'll get as much as 200 more to reach 110%. We'll see.

Time to get busy inspiring our teammates who may be lagging behind!

The plan calls for me to exceed my goal by a bit assuming that I hit all of my planned workouts and may get as high as 107% (750 Miles for the month).

May have to add some optional workouts to see about hitting a higher percentage

Hmm. I just bumped up my goal mileage. If I put it back at where I originally planned I could probably hit 120%. I'll leave it where it is though. I think I'll still hit over 100%.

Great job everyone!

Oh, it comes from the nautical term "Loblolly Boy". A loblolly boy was the a non-professional surgeon's assistant on board 19th century warships.

They got the name from the fact that they used to serve a thick goopy porridge to injured sailors to speed their recovery. It is pronounced pretty much as it looks but is more fun if you use a Bristol English Accent

The word comes from the archaic english word for "Bubbly Stew"

Head breakfast on the trainer  this morning. (Loblolly, Coffee, a biscuit and some jam)

Now at:

535.85/700 - 77%

I have ~165 miles to go with more than a week left. Seems like I will be able to exceed my goal by a bit for the team

Had a 30 mile adventure today. I am at 94% of goal. Should exceed it on Sunday! It was beautiful and sunny out, a perfect day for riding. Took my tri bike out. Everything was going along nicely until mile 28. I was being chased by a Chow uphill when my right shifter went "THUNK" and I couldn't shift my rear cassette. Managed to get it in the little ring and manually hold the bar end shifter in place up the big hill. Coasted down and took a turn that I thought was the fastest, flattest route toward home. After 2 miles of riding one-handed on the aerobars, I pulled over and called for help. So glad my parents live nearby My dad came and picked me up, took bike to hubby's work where he tightened a bole on the shifter. All appears to be back in working order. Ah, the joys of cycling!

Oh my goodness, I'm glad you made it safely with no damage to you most importantly, but to your bike as well.

One week left in January everyone. Ride lots!!

Did a quick recovery spin after my pukefest at the track this afternoon.

Now at: 550.95/700 - 79%

Going up to the mountains for the weekend but have a ride planned for tomorrow before I leave and another on Sunday when I get back. That should set me up for a shot at 750 for the month.

Nice job everyone

Made goal this morning with 11.25 miles...

203.09/200 - so here's 3.09 miles more for the team.

If you can, ride the other 37 miles to get you 120%. Weather hasn't exactly been cooperating over here, and I still need 150 miles.
