Try popping the battery out and putting it back. How old is the unit? Might be a bad battery.

done 3:18:46 swim felt great, bike Ok, run was horrible. Trainsitions were good. Had a rude awakening. I am nowhere near ready for an HIM. RR up tomorow or later tonight. 409 out of 465 sucks but I did finish. Had a huge calf cramp coming off the bike and couldn't get a rythym going... walk/ run all the way through. My sides cramped up about 2 k from the finish and I had trouble breathing. I was wheezing like an old steam engine coming down the stretch. More later.

Rob

Great job on the finish.  You and I were not too far apart today.  Best thing to do is over analyze what you think went well and wrong and really nail those things that didn't work for you.  I have a big job ahead of me for my HIM too.  If I don't figure out calorie/hydration issues on the bike, I won't finish.  It took me several races to nail the marathon protocol so I need to take it up a notch to be ready.

You can do it!

I'm done! #2 AG!

Not sure of the official time, but I wasn't far off my prediction earlier in the week.  I think maybe 3:16ish.  Swim: 32ish, Bike: 1:33ish and run UGGH, 1:01ish.  Didn't rush through T1 or T2 given the purpose of the day,but they probably soaked up 8-10minutes.

Believe it or not, the highlight was my 32 minute swim which included getting out of the water, running up the beach, around a tree and over a mat after each of the three loops! I was swam over twice by the 25-39 year old males whose wave started just as I was starting the 3rd lap. Not fun and NONE were good looking from that angle!

I executed the "Steve" plan on the bike as best I could, but with 2,500 feet of climbing I was in Z4/5 a lot!  This course was tough on so many levels and way beyond what I have been training on so far. No more.  This 25.5m of torture is going to become a Suzy regular.  I am going to eat hills for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

I have to give myself a big fat F for fueling on the bike.  I was worried about drinking when my HR was through the roof and suffer GI issues or a side stitch.  I had zero opportunities to reach back and grab my H20 from my rear holder.  I was trying to figure out how to stay upright!   This really impacted my run in a dramatic way.  The run course is hilly and going down the side of one of "mountains", hamstring cramp!  Crap. Wasted at least 2 minutes here trying to get rid of it and still go down the hill! Finally got that behind me and I was on the south side of bonking.  When you start telling yourself I will run from this sign to that sign you know you are in trouble!   I like to savethat strategy for Boston!

Crossed the finish line with a smile on my face.  I got out of this race what I wanted, my 1m swim and my experience with the bike course.   I didn't achieve my objective of learning to fuel (again), but I sure know what the consequences of not doing a good job are all about!

RR will probably be out tomorrow.

Enjoy your Sunday
.

Suzy, congrats!!! Your swim has come so far in such a short time!  I'm so happy for you  The fueling on the bike is tricky but you have lots of time to figure it out.  I took your advice and drank more water, not just the sport drink...sounds like it's just a matter of execution!!!  With practice, you'll get it.  I could never do the behind the seat bottle due to my clumsiness, but we know you can pretty much do whatever you set your mind to!  Great job on yet another podium finish!

Great Job Suzy...2nd in AG...way to go! I know you have to be pleased with the swim.  And sounds like alot of climbing on the bike, plus it had to be a blistering 70+ degrees up there  Glad you did well and looking forward to the details.

Rob, You and me both have a lot to prepare for the HIM.  I was humbled also, but just the fact that we are FINISHING these types of races is an accomplishment.  Looks like your times were pretty good.  That run is brutal after the bike and the swim.

Good job Trevor.  Congrats on getting the oly under your belt.

Nice job on the sprint Chris.

I had a good weekend at the lake where I did a long OWS on saturday and a run today.  Looking forward to getting some WORK (workouts) done this week.

Happy Fathers Day to all the guys.

Great job!  Even with the run your time is very very good.  Your competition sounds like they were pretty tough!

Rob- you did great and stop beating yourself up!  The competition definitely increases at longer distances!!! So, 409/465 is nothing to be bummed about!

To all the dads, Happy Father's Day!!!

You did something that less than 1 in 1,000 people will even attempt.  That should be enough to stop the "suckage" talk!  Don't beat yourself up, I am sure you learned something out there!

Didn't we?  We said everyone needs to do Lonestar next year : )  Get a house on the beach, party it up after the race, they have a sprint, Oly and HIM there, yes there is wind but the biggest hill on the bike course is like a 10 foot elevation change.  Look at the video.

Dalessit (Tony),

Nice seeing you (and your wife) today over in Montclair.  It was funny, after I left, I rode past some guy from work as he was going out for a jog.

As I was riding home, my stupid Forerunner totally crapped out on me, went completely dead and now I can't even turn it on or synch it to my computer to at least download my most recent workouts.  Hopefully a talk to Garmin customer service can help me quickly resolve it or I will be going watchless at Montclair next weekend.  Then I'll be in the market for a new Garmin.......tempting.
