Well Enders is back in form.  Joining the band wagon to pick on the poor old man I see...sigh.

Back in form...

Picking on Saling and gaining weight. GRRRR.

Do you think the 2 are related? If I'm sweet to Saling, I'll lose weight.

mmm. That may be too tough to change.

Congrats on the running tricupcake! about a year and a half ago I was right where you're at, still have a hard time believing I'm actually a runner even after two half marys. Just keep at it and before you know it, you'll be running whatever distance you want. Way to go runner!!!

Good luck Sunday xmann!! Have fun and enjoy the day!!! Can't wait to hear about it!

Go Sherm!!! Go Sherm!!!

Actually ran my first official race this morning I entered a 5k run to benefit the High School cross country team and it was not as bad as I had feared I did not place in my age group but I was not last I turned in a time of 30:59 so it could be better though, I guess I will just keep working at it. The overall winner was 17:37.

Welcome back Comet. Sailing has been a wreck while you were gone
cried the whole time, i bet.

Maybe Saling didn't, but I did.

And I comfort-ate to ease the pain of you being gone.

So by my math...you owe me a couple of lost pounds...'cause I'm sure not losing 'em now.
ok over the past week i have gained about 2 pounds. there we're even.

Pseudo-Healthy Food: Diet Soda

It may seem like the perfect way to save calories and slash your sugar intake, but studies show that diet drinkers actually weigh more than regular soda drinkers. For diet soft-drink drinkers, the risk of becoming overweight or obese tied to a 2-can-a-day habit is 57 percent compared to 46 percent for regular soda drinkers. Diet soda may throw off your natural appetite regulation, causing you to eat more sweets. It may also trick you into thinking it's OK to indulge in high calorie foods because you "saved" by choosing diet soda

Tonight, I had a pretty good night. My friend that moved back from Cali... and I went out as a catching up on ol' times excuse. We went and had Mongolian food, a few drinks but spent most of the night reminiscing, and hoping that things in the future will turn out better... Though considering where I am (weight wise) I feel I can accomplish anything right now, and no, that's not liquid courage talking. ( I didn't have that many) But all in all we had a really good time, I guess my 'vacation time' was worth something. Night all!

There is always today Shermy.  I had grand plans as well,  but had to work and them for some reason decided it was time to tear apart the guest bath and start a remodel.

Luckily, a few years ago, I cut way back on pops.  I would say I have about 3-4 a month and that's typically when I eat out.  When I do, I always order the regular pop.  I'd just rather consume the calories than more crap that's in the diets.

sorry it's late but my weigh in this week was 196, 0.5lb up from last week. I have no idea why I gained - apart from the takeaway food the night before which might have meant I was retaining water - I stuck to the plan and counted everything I ate all week. I guess it's just one of those things. Hopefully next week it'll be back to normal.

Grrrrr

Hello,

I'm new to the forum and have had several members tell me that since I am working on my weight loss goals, that I should get in on the weekly weight loss challanges. Can I just jump right in or do I need to wait for a new challange to start in September?

Thanks in advance,

Chris

I don't know what happened to me today, but my eating went anorexic. This morning 2 slices of kiwi fruit, lunch was a gatorade, and dinner I did o.k. very small salad, pork kabobs, and chicken drums. I just finished another handful of almonds, and I've been drinking water only half as well as I usually do... I felt kinda depressed today ( don't ask me why), but most of the day was 'ho hum'ish, you know. If ever I was in a funk, it was today. I feel less depressed right now, aside from the fact that I can't sleep and my joints are aching, but I'll be alright. I usually only get that bad on the first day of school... It's been like that ever since elementary school. The first day I always feel over-stressed, and just wrung out. But I don't know what happened to me today. Oh well, tomorrow starts anew ( in about 30 mins), we'll see how it goes.

Oh I'm slipping...this will be my 3rd week at the same weight.  I wouldn't be complaining if I wasn't actively trying to lose weight.  It's making me depressed, and I have 2 nights this week when I will have to eat out.  It's hard for me to stay on track when I'm discouraged by lack of progress.
