I got a 3 miler in today!!  yippee!  got the MP3 player back into my gym back, that helped a little - but I forgot where I was in my audio book.

Good luck on Cole's bike ride - maybe have a destination - my daughter did her longest ride with a trip to/from the bagel store.

mav - 2009-11-08 5:14 PM I just updated  my numbers...sorry team... I didnt get it done before Dee posted results.

I did a 42 mile ride in shorts and no sleeves today! Strange to be riding like this in mid Nov.in New England. I definately feel like I am cheating winterWink. I did a 3 mile run prior to the ride just so that I could stay on course for the challenge!!!
Nice job! I like being (or just appearing) like the team that's behind. We'll catch 'em!

So are we stalking or drafting the leaders?

I would say stalking, then drafting...

Everyones doing great so far, and looks like we're off to a good start to the week. Nice Job!

Hey CTs! I've been battling an epic cold/crap this week, and haven't done anything except my measly run on Saturday. But I feel like I am on the mend, and have 3 days off work this week, so should be making up some workout time I hope!

Sounds like everyone is fired up and ready to hit it this week...and catch up and pass them at the finish chute!!!! Happy TUESDAY!

Help me Cold Turkeys!  My in laws are here!!

Okay, it isn't that bad but bad enough that I missed my workouts yesterday.  I am making up my bike today and hope to swim sometime later in the week.

But boy, I am in a BAD mood and want my life back to normal!

Back from the ortho.  Good news / bad news type of deal - looks like I have a MCL injury which should heal itself.  Bad news is that it take 6-8 weeks to heal.  I am only 3 weeks in!  I need to adjust my goals for the month, as running is out for the rest of the month!  I want to change it to 10 core workouts instead of 10 running sessions.  Any objections?

The month is 1/3 over. How are YOU doing on your goals?

If you are under 33%, try to get there and past this week. Shoot for close to 50% by the end of next week. I am willing to bet that Nov is the toughest challenge month due to the first major holiday of the winter season.

Kick it up a notch. Get it in gear. Stop slackin'. MOVE!

Tase them! Tase everyone!

Well ok. Maybe not. But now you know how Cole feels when he's in a bad mood.

Maybe you should take the in-laws AND Cole outside for a workout today!

(Your life is usually normal? Mine's not. LOL)

Bummer about the knee.  At least it will heal itself if you are good to yourself.  I don't have a problem with you changing your goals.

I did a trainer bike ride this morning.  I followed Jorge's Week 1 / Day 1 workout.  I liked it!  I think I'll keep doing those workouts when I get on the trainer.  Nothing formal, though.  They are going to be good for beating the trainer boredom.

As for my challenge goal.....I'm right on target!  I'll be running this evening.

Have a great day Cold Turkeys!!!!

Happy Tuesday Cold Turkeys!  Got a Body Step class in this morning, does it count toward my goals if I am incredibly uncoordinated??  I hope so.  I really need to get on my trainer too - need to figure out Jorge's plan.  Hope you all have a great day!

Jorge's plan is pretty easy to figure out.  Just remember, the warm ups and cool downs are on a separate sheet from the main set.  It will say Warm up #1; MS 3 at 10' (2') 1st 10 80-85%, 2nd 10 85-90%, 3rd 10 90-95% CD

Read that like - do the warm up #1 from the warm up page; main set is 3 efforts of 10 minutes with 2 minute recovery after each.  1st 10 min go at 80-85% of Lactate Threshold (HR or RPE of approx 4-5), 2nd 10 min go at 85-90% of LT, etc.  Then do the cool down from that is on the same page as the warm ups.  Interval work really helps the trainer not be as boring (so does movies - I watched Blades of Glory last night on my 90' easy ride...)
