I may jump on the trainer to do some low RPMs at low resistance to see how things feel today. If it's still not feeling right, I'll send Dee a message and drop out. If it does feel o.k., I'll probably adjust my goals anyways, just so I don't jeopardize putting myself out for the whole race season. Sorry, I meant Nicole... Take care of your knee! Hang around as team cheerleader. See you next month. |

Expert 1104 Canada | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge pdbman - 2010-02-08 1:01 PMCongrats on the half mary Richard. Its quite an accomplishment to do a race in the cold. I'm too much of a wimp to run when it gets too cold out, although I would like to do a race like this at some point. I like challenges and doing a winter race would make it just that much more of a challenge. I have some work to do before I would be ready for something like this. Keep up the good work. Thank you for the kind comments. Running in cold is sort of pleasant!!! Keep working at...you can do it! |

By the time I had gone a mile the rain stopped and a HUGE rainbow decorated the sky. So great! Great job getting out there! It really is worth it! |

Elite 3447 West Allis, WI | Subject: RE: Hugs - February Challenge KOM - 2010-02-06 4:02 PM So today was a major HTFU workout for me. I got in just over 12 miles in the 20 degree windy cold. HAving some issues with spasm in my right glut. It was wicked tight on Thursday after spin class. I think we did a lot of glut stuff with the trainer on Tue and Thurs this week too. It bothered me the entire run today. Hoping to get it foam rolled or otherwise fixed this week. I hate having issues. I just like to go and not worry about things..... way to dig deep....but take it easy don't want it to get worse. |

I am taking Liam to the doctor and then, assuming he is good to go, dropping him off at school and running 15k. If he has to stay home (he has a nasty cough and had a migraine on Sat), I'll hit the drainer and run the 15k tomorrow. And of course laundry and cleaning. Anyone seen the laundry fairy lately? I have a Liam too! Mine is 7. Hope all was good and you got your run in....but it is NOT sunny here! Wish it was, I really do not like WI winters! |

I was just getting ready to make a comment about how I must run too many challenges. Sorry to hear about the knee. Although where you live, you don't even need to ice it -- you could just walk outside for a few minutes. That ought to freeze everything right up. |

By then, who knows -- maybe some of the snow will have melted up there. Actually, can you still swim? (Note: I'm assuming you have access to an indoor pool. I wasn't suggesting that you pull out the chainsaw to cut through 37 inches of ice on the local pond.) Or, if you can't swim because of the kick, maybe you could just do pull drills? P.S. Spring Break is a big deal everywhere. Just ask the kids around here.... |
