Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Just posted ride #12 out of 15. 3 more to go...this is gonna be rough...so early tomorrow. And SUPER-early Friday - it won't be light, so I'll have to go to the gym to do it and it'll probably be short, since we're leaving at 6. |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Great job finishing up team. I started a thread below where you can recap your tour for everyone to see... plus it will be a nice to see so many Barlo riders cross the line early on. I'm on schedule to finish, but that won't happen until Saturday. |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Z-dog, You must have Barloworld confused with some lame team, say the big doping teams who are getting sent out of France right now. Check our logs out, we ride and we ride hard. Our bikes may be beyond repair (sorry, Josh) but we perservered to meet our goals. I'd say we're darn good for a bunch of newbies. You need to find a new street to leave the dog pile on J |

Methinks my wife will not be pleased if that's how I end my tour on Saturday, however. |

Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Z-dog - 2007-07-26 1:20 AM That's funny - last time I checked, we were all in one piece and almost finished with out rides. No one on a stretcher here. Or steroids, for that matter... |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread With our long, smooth cruise this morning ... DoloresM2 and I are reporting from Paris. Majority of BT Barloworld is now WAITING AT THE CHAMPS ELYSEES! WOO HOO! Judi on the breakaway from Tour start is in the yellow jersey, and a few days later in the same 12-hour time period, Josh v2.0 zooms in with Yanti and Dolores hot on his tail. Okay, maybe that came out badly ... but the rest of you are COMIN' UP and we are GETTIN' THIS PARTY STARTED!!! P.S. I'm sure some of the other teams P.P.S. I rode all 20 stages (no prologue). Yes, the majority of my rides were at the 15-minute minimum. However, I would bet ANY amount of money that not one of the heckling high end Edited by TriAya 2007-07-26 12:28 PM |

Melon Presser 52116 | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread willie05 - 2007-07-24 5:01 AM Hey Cat - here's Euskaltel's spreadsheet through week 2. We slacked a little last week, but we're determined to get to 100%! Yikes. You, the team leader, have to apologize for your own team's crappy results? It's easy to pledge stages and not ride 'em ... it's easy to pledge more stages when you've got an extra rider ... one of our riders doesn't even have a functioning bike and HE'S ALREADY IN PARIS!!! |

I committed to 15 rides, which isn't exactly shabby considering I've only had my road bike for about 3 months. This is my first tri and I'm not devoting my entire life to it just yet, because I have other things that need to take priority as well. Hope your husbands, wives and kids still remember what you look like... |

Master 1240 Knightdale/Raleigh | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Wow I missed a lot! There was a lot of activity on here. Well, I still haven't missed a ride. New baby and all, I made my short Thursday ride. Missed my Tuesday's run, Wednesday's swim, and several night's sleep, but I got that ride in for the team. I'll finish on Saturday with a very long ride. |

Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Ride #14 down folks! More than I would have liked on the stationary, but being crunched for time, the trail isn't nearly as close as the gym, esp. when you factor in traffic, having to go home and get the bike, etc. Last one VERY early tomorrow morning- again, at the gym cuz it'll be too dark. I need to get a trainer... |

Royal(PITA) 14270 West Chester, Ohio | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread You guys like to talk about being the newbies & such, right? How come all your profiles say things like, "expert", "extreme veteran", "veteran", etc.? well, I'm not sure completing 1 tri makes me more than "barely a veteran" you can look at the race log. It stunk, waited over an hour for the swim start in the rain. Did my first tri on a hybrid that continually drops the chain (and yes it did that 2 miles in to the ride), talked myself up the second hill on the run convincing myself that it was all down hill at that point--only to get blasted with the wind and rain. But this kid didn't quit and has no intention of bailing on the other races scheduled this summer. My times might stink, but I keep on going. If you're going to dump dog piles on our street you better be prepared to scoop the doop when you're done. |

Master 3546 Millersville, MD | Subject: RE: Barloworld Team Thread Josh 1.0 and 2.0 both bikeless now! My rear wheel literally fell apart on a ride tonight... I very nearly ate it BADLY! Had to carry my bike a little over a mile back to the house (barefoot) as the wheel was completely destroyed (wouldn't spin at all even with brakes released)... thank goodness it happened early on. From what I can tell, a small piece of the rim came out, caught on a brake pad... instantly locked my wheel and ripped my rim apart causing a LOUD sidewall blowout and several spokes to break loose. Able to come to a FAST skidding stop and unclip without incident. After assessing the damage (hey, now I can buy new wheels, and there doesn't appear to be derailler damage which I was worried about), I rode a buck forty-five on the stationary watching the tour... 1:45 on the stationary sucks no matter what's on TV. If that had happened up front I'm quite sure I would have done a major endo! Edited by JoshKaptur 2007-07-26 8:58 PM |
