So not so far, and not really all that fast in the overall tri world, but I'm still smilin'! Go L.E.M.mings!! |

Over 50% now...
I have 5km to run on Sunday as part of my tri and I'm going to run again tomorrow. Nothing too much, Just enough to get me up to the 36km mark I should be at tomorrow. |

Extreme Veteran 303 Champaign, Illinois | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. You know.. .I know running is my weak event... I'm both slow and not very good, but you guys all humble me! Excellent job to everyone! Great goals and amazing work toward accomplishing them. Okay, so on a side note... I did get a 4 mile run in yesterday. I missed my run on Tuesday, but made it up and will be out again tonight. Last night my son was running with me and he informed me that I jog, I don't run. My question to all of you real runners (not my wannabe azz).. besides speed, what is the difference between jogging and running? If there is? Thanks :D

Regular 171 Lubbock, TX | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. Hey guys....what a horrible month this has turned out to be. I've been so busy I haven't even had time to get on and introduce myself, or log my workouts. Now I am sidelined for the rest of the month with a high ankle sprain. So I have to drop out of the challenge. Hopefully they will just drop me from the team so you guys won't be penalized. Im sorry Good luck with the rest of the challenge! |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. Bummer. Rest up, heal up and you'll back right back into it in no time! As for everyone's response to my mileage? This is getting into new territory for me as well! My peak during my last hard marathon training session was only around 210. I had over 300 on the schedule for this month with this new plan but knew that more than likely I wouldn't be able to hit that (and having to drop last week's 15 weekday run because of a stomach bug just showed why!!). It's all relative! You've got to remember that I run over 1,400 a year usually. When you think of the pro/elite runners doing 100+ weeks all the time it makes my totals look paltry. (But I also am not going to do this ever again unless I win the lottery and don't have to work anymore ....... this level of running is just beyond my tolerance level for extended periods. If I don't get the sub-3 on this marathon attempt I'm not going to try again!). Keep at it everyone! The Team is looking good and the month is over halfway done! Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. 8 miles late last nitght/ early this am. Had a slight twinge in my left knee on this run and last 3 runs at 6-8 miles ish. It is fine the next morning and fine for the first 5 miles etc. I walk it off and nothing even a few minutes later. It is in the joint, doesn't seem like a tendon or msucle thing. Positionaly it would be roughly where the fibula lands on the left upper bump of the tibia cradle on the left leg. I know this is not a medical forum... anyone have any thoughts though? I am 145 so weight isn't an issue on the joints, do not have any knee injury history, no strains sprains, injuries or recent twists etc. Oh well, I am sure I can finish off the rest of my miles, just reducing bike by 20-30 miles per week and dropping 1 run per week to try to see if rest will help it. If not ya I will visit Mr. Dr. |

I am by far not an expert but my husband recently had some issues and the dr pinpointed it to the meniscus - maybe look into that. |

If not ya I will visit Mr. Dr. I'm not a doc either, but it sounds like it could be your IT Band giving you trouble. I would suggest looking into getting a foam roller. I used to have a fair amount of problems with knee pain after about 3 miles. For me, the pain is usually on the top/outside of the knee, but sometimes different places along the band. My trainer had me use the roller to soften/stretch that band of muscle. Worked like a charm. |

Extreme Veteran 466 | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. My question to all of you real runners (not my wannabe azz).. besides speed, what is the difference between jogging and running? The simple answer(from George Sheehan I think) is a race entry. It's not about speed or distance but intention. That philosophy is what last year's one Pearl Izumi ad campaign missed and irritated a lot of people. Haven't ran a step yet this week but that was expected when I created my goal for the month. Probably do something relatively short and easy this weekend just so I don't log a doughnut and then get back into some light running next week. |
