I might be missing something?  But does this mean pictures of your bike?  Or just "ride times?"  When?

I might be missing something as well, but he wanted a ride time and I gave him one.
BTW, I have no pics of my bike.  But picture a red and silver sailboat riding INTO the wind.

The fact the Magali responded really says something about her.  I think the art of being humble is lost these days among elite athletes.  She wins the biggest race of her life and is working emails just like the common folk.
That's really cool, Steve.

swbkrun - 2009-06-22 6:18 PM Hey.... Check it out... I manage to contact Magali (the girl that won Boise) regarding the picture I made of her, and got a pretty cool response!!
Steven!
Your thought is so inspiring. I will cherish this picture with your note on it. It means alot to me.
Boise was my first big win. And I will never forget it...or the elements I had to fight to get through it.
I hope you also conquered the elements that day. Did you have fun? What are the other races you will do this year?
I was about to go swimming. Now I will be even more motivated with that image on the back of my mind.
Thank you so much. Hope to keep in touch. My blog is www.magalitisseyre.blogspot.com if ever you want to follow my adventures!
Hope to meet you one day at a race.
Train hard!
Magali.

wow she seems really nice.  It seems like tri pros are the nicest athletes, I heard other stories of other tri pros being especially nice as well.  Maybe the professional baseball/football/basketball players should learn something from these athletes.

Man that's really cool.

I tell you what, I'll watch the pro women any day over the men, and no Tracy not just because of that.   They are just so much more interesting, imho anyways.  Check this image out for instance.   She's the world champ for crying out loud and Joanna isn't to shabby herself.  And there they are standing in ice buckets hours after they finish just to hang out and strap medalas on AGer's

very cool!

Chet... Can I borrow that this weekend.  I promise I'll try not to get run over.  Thanks

Ya Chet...I'd trust this guy with my bike for sure. He seems to ride under control at all times. Tongue out

I agree with John as well. The women seem more accessible than alot of the men.

Stan-- Wonder if there is video of the dismount. Good job staying safe though.

And Steve...of course she's great..she's Canadian!!

Dang man, if that was my ride, I would want to do a little showing off myself  I was looking at tri bikes online today myself, dreaming mostly.  Looking at Blue, Fuji, and of course Cervelo and Felt.  LBS has felts.  Which one is that and what do you like about it.

My brother just got a pretty sweet deal on last years model Felt S32 from Bikesport in Dearborn, Mi.  It's where I got my Cervelo.

Steve - I guess that is why you are the mentor and I am the student   The resizing thing kicks my butt.  I bought a used B2 off of E-Bay and Fed Ex crushed it.  Thank goodness for insurance!  They bought me a brand new one in the later version.  The wheels also Ebay after 6 months of shopping.  Her name is Trissa and she is much faster than I am.

Barry - It is a Felt B2.  I don't have much to compare to but it just fits.  I am so much more comfortable on it than my roadie.  It really was about price though.  I love the cervelos but got a better deal on the used B2.

Jeremy- I see you signed up for Pumkinman.  That is in my neck of the woods.  I ride that course 2 times a week.  I raced it the last 2 years and it is a very well run race.  Tough bike too.  I work for Las Vegas Fire too so if you would like a tour, beer, place to stay etc... let me know.  Chet

I just had my first Matrix (aka the movie) moment.  I was on my way home from a long ride (for me long ride = 32 miles) this morning and I was on the West Side highway in NYC in the bike lane.  I was going around 16-17 miles per hr when a police tow truck made an illegal right hand turn off the highway into a parking lot.  I know it was illegal because the bike lane has its own traffic light and it was green.  I slammed on my breaks and the bike stopped but my momentum of my body had me go forward over my handle bars while my feet were clipped in causing the rear of the bike go in the air.  In mid-air somehow both my feet became unclipped and my feet landed on the ground as i ran forward and I some how caught the seat of my bike over my left shoulder.  It seemed like it was going in slow motion, as the tow truck pulled in front of me all I could think of is "oh no not my new bike!"  Luckily only the tips of my aero bars are a scratched (they're plastic are replaceable) and my rear quick release has a small scuff from when i put down the bike.  A few runners asked if I was OK and how I did what I did.   All I could say was I was lucky..  The part that pissed me off the most was the police tow truck just drove away.  I'm thinking about reporting this, you would think the people that should respect traffic signals and public safety are cops/people who work for the police department.

anyway my ride was good, I'm getting used to the aero bars.  My legs are getting used to the different geometry... It's odd though, my quads are sore, more sore than when I rode my road bike.  I thought the more forward position is supposed to save my quads more..  Maybe my technique is off?  I went for a 4.5 mile run afterwords and they were all crampy..

That sounds totally awesome!  Scary way to come up with a cool dismount though.  I say report it.  Even if you don't have an ID on the truck the police should be able to determine who was in that area.  Glad you're OK!!!

X2!

Dang it is HOT out there.  Just got back from a 4.5 mile run (jog) and it almost KILLED me.  I was running 10 to 11 min pace just trying to keep one foot in front of the other and get thru it.  I started out this morning at 6:00 and by 6:30 it was probably 90 degrees outside already.  I LOVE RUNNING!   I guess it was just one of those days.  I am glad I am done with the workout, and hopefully it will make the next one a little easier.  I LOVE RUNNING!

I lived up there for years. Tony lives near the orange line in VA, this occured on the Red line in MD. Tony is somewhere between 6 and 9 o'clock, and the crash is between 12 and 3 o'clock, so nowhere near each other.

My parent live off of the Red line, but on the opposite end of the line from where the crash occured

Tony is onthe left side on the Orange line probably at East Falls Church or closer in. Takoma is shown on the Red line to the top (or 12 o'clock if you look at it like a clock). that is what I was refering to. Thanks for posting the metro map.

BTW the map is an abstract to help people get around but if you saw them on a geographically accurate map the lines go all over the place.

People, as you might remember hearing, Tony has a new running coach.  Lowell probably has him out doing 20 hill repeats or a track test!  Either that or he might actually be working!

Barry--nearly passed out on my run today too.  It is 85F RF here in WI and we don't do well with humidity.  A lousy 8m run and I lost 1.6lbs.  Good for the waistline, but really lousy for performance.  Hope you hydrated well.  Once I got home, I slammed my 8oz of chocolate/white milk, followed by 3G of Glutamine and a 16oz of water. Think I am as good as new!
