Ahhhh, cute little tapirs:

It's sort of like the "wolf in sheep clothing" effect thought, because we know that on the inside of the taper is this, just ready to come out and take whatever it wants on race day!

Had a really nice late evening 2000 yard open water swim down in the bay, followed immediately by a 5 mile run home in my race gear.   Felt awesome during  both.   I can't believe how fast I'm feeling in the open water....and after the first 500 yards or so, it's pretty much effortless.  Can't freaking wait to take on the lake and all you HB's.

Weekly totals:

Swim:  9500 yards

Bike:  160 miles

Run:  45 miles.

jackson61802 that shirt is pretty cool! Ill be looking for you. I'll try to wear the Slayer hat around. Do y'all think we should post pictures now so we can figure out who to look for or just identifying info?

with less than 2 weeks out, my bike out at the shop for tribike transport, my head sick of doing planning and extra laps in the pool, i am becoming a bit of a nutjob. I nearly did 20 hours last week without add-ons so I will be glad that this week is dropping some.

Here's my new aero helmet:

For me I will swim most every day. I am not a very good swimmer so if I take time off my body seems to forget what to do. For me it is all rhythm and control of my breathing.

nerdjock - 2011-06-12 3:29 PM Oooooh, getting so close!  Just throwing this out there: I did a good bit of super cold OWS this spring and found that the booties were really annoying.  The neoprene cap was an absolute must but the booties seemed to fill with water and I wound up taking them off and throwing them on the beach.  They were the correct size, so not sure what was going on.

Dumb question but I assume you put the wet suit legs on OVER the booties.  If you put the booties on outside the legs of the suit they do fill up.

Why not... this is the kit I'll be wearing race day.  Before the race I'll be the guy alternating between excitement and pure terror.

Hard to believe that two weeks from today all of the madness will be over!

I've been absent mostly from all of the discussions, and for that I apologize.  I've been training well, but not nearly where I had originally intended when I started training back in the late fall.  But, I wouldn't trade an extra hour of training time for what I've been able to experience with my now 5 1/2 month old son, so it is what it is.  It's all about priorities, and I know all of you know that.  I wrapped up the bulk of my training this weekend, and like everybody else, am getting antsy to put it all to good use!  I will try to make it out to one of the group swims; likely Friday morning.

So stay smart for the next two weeks, and we'll see you out on the course.  Cheers, everybody!

Dang, it has been a very long and winding 24 weeks of training. I see a new word on my training plan "TAPER" and in honor of this, today is a full rest day. Nothing but Candyassing and Lollygagging around with plenty of nutritional and physical recovery.

I guess I have figured out what this TAPER thing is. It is not a short herbivore, and does not mean I need to redo the wraps on my aerobars; and certainly does not mean time to do some drywall work in my house. I guess I just need to follow the plan day by day and let it all unfold. It got me this far, might as well stick with it to the end

I have a 1 hour message scheduled for after work and I have a feeling this is going to be orders of magnitude more painful than any workout so far.  I did do 90 minutes of Astanga Yoga this morning and I am pretty darn tight but poses that opened up my hips felt Sooooo Goooood. Going to be plenty more of that in the coming weeks for sure.

It might come as a surprise but I am really not a molar shaped monster with red fur and sneakers. Here is a pic from my second lap of the IMCdA run course in 2008:

CDA Run Course

I will surely be wearing my Tri Club Kit this year, not just the hat. The logo has a big Coyote on it along with a "Watch my Race" logo across my backside. The kit is also covered in maroon and black Coyote Paw prints so I should be pretty easy to spot.

I did not design the outfit, but I did get a chance to meet the guy who did when I bumped into him in the Corral at Boston last year.

So, except for the fact that I'm short, I'm fairly hard to miss--bright red hair, 5'3".  Don't have a picture of me in my tri-suit yet, BUT, should you see a red head wearing the logo on this kit on any type of clothing, you can be SURE it's probably me--I'll be sporting it all week for sure. My tri-suit looks like this--so, short red head wearing red/white/blue--PLEASE stop me and say hi.

I'm in the middle with my two biggest supporters.....  Taylor (5) and Logan (4)....  not sure on the race day outfit yet.  I do plan to be at the Friday swim and will probably jump in on Saturday for 10-15 minutes as well just to get used to the shock of the water....

This is what I look like.  My honey is in the second picture with me.  He will be my CDA sherpa extraordinaire.  Had to make sure I had a recent pic so the hair would be correct Tongue out.  The first pic is of me after Wildflower this year.  I will be wearing the same kit (I heard spudone would be wearing the same top so I'm going to be his doppelganger).

Here's me, and a pic of the family since you're probably just as likely to spot them.    I'll be wearing black DeSoto Riviera tri shorts and a red/black Zoot jersey with red Zoot TT4.0's and white Jawbones.   My name is Christopher....the "Jackson" in my sn is my sons name.

My daughter and I before my Rage Half this April.

This is how I'll look on the bike.  Hope fully no long sleeve shirt under my jersey, but you never know.  I'll probably wear this jersey for the run also unless it's over 90*.

Me after my first trail race of the year.
