P.S. Spanky: I would NOT try to do my own fit and I was a mechanic for 6 years. Whenever you make one adjustment you need to determine the effect that will have on the other pieces. A good fitter will swap out parts during the fit to check how appropriate the components (saddle, arebars, stem, etc.) are for you. They will check your alignment, whether your knees go outwards, and a lot more this is virtually impossible to do for yourself.

And the attitude of the shop you describe is unacceptable, good call on NOT using them.

I agree on the fit thing. I can do my own basic fit for a bike... but for the milage and the type of rides I am doing and want to do.. my own fit is not acceptable.

I met a guy that LOVES this shop I was talking about but then again he has money... He bought a Computrainer from them, then a $5000 bike, plus plus plus... so it is no wonder they treat him very well.

Personally the ENGINE in my bike needs the most work

I will find someone even if I have to drive 4 hours.. I will do it.

GrapeJuice... I am only going to bail you out this one time if you end up in Jail but only because that was funny as heck...

Next time your on your own dude.

Sam and I are drinking right now, anyone else?

I'm a one-drink wonder (the cheapest of dates!)... waiting to see the Family Evening Plan so I can figure out how/when/what adult beverage I will have. (And, lamely, it might just end up being tea at home later while we watch last night's Idol.) If we go out for sushi (Thing 1's request) or pizza, then I'll have a beer. If we go somewhere else, I'll be lame. But if it's Mexican I'll have a margarita.

I'm having flashbacks to college when one of the fraternities had FADC (Friday Afternoon Drinking Club) every -- get this!! -- Friday afternoon. I never partook during swim season (was always off at practice) but in the spring... watch out! So fun. Would always follow up FADC with a patty melt and fries before heading out to parties later that night, ha ha!! Man, I was so mean to my body in college. Anyway, today feels like a good day for FADC. It would be fun to have FADC with you crazy peeps!!!

aah, the Champagne of beers...  Good stuff

And yes I seem to remember riding a christmas tree down the stairs.  You learn your first time, don't put your knees under the tree, that hurts...

Also, good funny (or sad) story, I received a fine from my fraternity for Sam and I having a bit too much to drink and thinking it was funny to throw empty beer bottles at one another from the top and the bottom of the stairs, there was glass everywhere...

I stop by after missing one afternoon and.....

People are sniffing babies heads and Grapejuice is about to get arrested.

People are eating a lot of fried food at Costco and starting to drink by 4pm EST when a marathon is around the corner.

People are going on vacation to dangerous lands just to get a jump on their tan to show it off in Knocksville.

And yet others are eating pizza with adults at Chucky Cheese...

WOW, quite an afternoon.
