You were doing the work of a good, true friend. Hugs to you. And thanks for letting me join your group. Hi All- I have been chatting with a few of you via PM and inspire, so when Dan suggested that a mentoring group might be helpful, I knew who I wanted my peeps to be, and Yanti was kind enough to let me in:) Yay! I've been a runner for over 20 years, but this is my first tri season. I have a sprint and oly done, next two races will be HIMs four weeks apart (July and August), then a couple more olys and a fall marathon to wrap up the year. Good luck to all of you who are racing this weekend:) Piles of Plentiful Pop Tarts! xo, Switch Welcome! I hope that you are doing well. How goes the training and such? 20 years of running explains the speediness I saw in your logs. Good luck with your HIM's and with all you have planned for the year. Pretty ambitious schedule. BTW, I need a name for you. Like a real name. Otherwise it is hard to put you in the list. Thanks! Wait--is it Chris? Dan? What do you prefer? Did I just imagine the "Dan" thing? Ack! My name is Elesa--pronounced like Lisa, but with a long E in the front, not that pronunciation really matters ;P Is it ambitious? Shows you how much I know. Ignorance is bliss. I am still recovering from an "over reaching" (not as bad as being over trained, but still pretty sucky) period in February and some really low iron, so I'm trying to be a good girl and be patient, but my run times still aren't where they were in January :/ Thank you for the suggestion about the group (pod?). You guys are great! |

Sorry Manatees - I can't do any inspiring until I get to my home computer... and I may not be all that coherent by the time I get there as it's national burbon day (helllooooooo Makers Mark!), but I'll try to write something. Wait, what? IE8 is still on the issue list???? Yep, I noticed it either yesterday or the day before (all the days this week are starting to blend together) that I can't access inspires in any way. Any time I try to see them I get a little pop up box saying "this tab has been recovered". There's already a thread about it in the bugs, and Ron knows about it. Hopefully it'll be fixed soon! I think he was somewhat surprised at how much Inspires get used. Lol! I bet that was quite the surprise if he didn't know how extensively it's used - but for me, it's also one of the best things about BT in my opinion. Happy Friday Judi!! Yep - I've had it for a few days now and it's kind of driving me crazy! I wonder if work would be mad if I downloaded Firefox to see if inspires work on that? Drat... I bet I would need a good "work related" reason to download a new browser. |

I remember as a kid really appreciating when my mom would come and watch me train for track and field. It wasn't even a meet/competition, but I wanted here there watching me. My mom was a single mom, worked 3 jobs, and still managed to come to many/most of my sports events. We didn't really get along super well as I was a teenager, I was angry about a lot, but I always knew that she loved me cause she was there. Thanks for passing this along. |

http://www.handsfreemama.com/2012/04/16/six-words-you-should-say-today/ Love this! At the same time it makes me a little sad - my parents weren't able to see me for the majority of my competitions. When I got to the point where I really wasn't too half bad, almost all of my competitions were in other places in the world - though if they hadn't gotten me into sports in the first place, I certainly wouldn't have gotten to do 1/2 the things I got to do. Thankfully my parents get to go see my little niece and nephew at their sporting events now and watch them grow and improve - and of course the little ones love showing off for grandma and grandpa. Soooo...I'm going to hope my kids are never really any good. Well, unless I can travel with them. Here is my boy practicing his diving (this video is the second day of his attempts) for when his dad and grandpa got back from their motorcycle trip. Showing off is such a joy when you're six. lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1DRt4ZZrCs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
**Yes, Pod, this is THE pool.

I struggled for awhile. Anyway, finally got it on, got it all pumped up, was feeling pretty chuffed (anytime I can do anything for myself with respect to my bike, I feel pretty good). The end pieces (the 'up' and 'down' pieces) come off. My SO has had one set up in the front yard to practice. She had removed the end pieces and put them in the carport, but the middle frame was still in the front yard. I say was because some effer stole it overnight. Probably for the metal. This thing is not light, they would have needed a truck and at least 2 people. I am feeling just sick. Not that the dog walk was stolen, another one can be purchased. But that they just waltz into the yard in the middle of the night and take it. It is not a nice feeling at all. |

I went through a period of time in my life where I had SO much stuff stolen from me, including but not limited to my underwear from my locker at the pool and my car. It certainly shaped the value I place on things... |
