I did my run this morning and it was way too windy!!! So as you can see my run was way slow; but, if you look at my heart rate you can see that I was working hard for the miles. |

Master 1548 Perth, Australia | Subject: RE: Eurydice79 (Magda's) Group - FULL Good morning team! Happy MOnday! How is everyone going? Welcome to page 16! I had a mega weekend of training - on Saturday I rode 111k/69mi, on Sunday I ran 20k/12.5mi and this morning I swam 3.2k/2mi!!! I am feeling like I am finally going to be ready for this HIM. Has anyone else got any exciting training stories?

Don't you just love mother nature LOL The most important thing is that you still got out there and did it, and your HR proves you worked hard. Well done! I'm struggling to cope with the new layout too - its a bit difficult to find things on here now!

Extreme Veteran 458 Montreal | Subject: RE: Eurydice79 (Magda's) Group - FULL Hi all! Seems like everyone's been MIA lately... I've had my last day of school and am about to enter exam period. I've been training but the weather's been horrid so I've focused on swimming. I absolutely cannot WAIT until summer arrives and I can spend all day outside. Anyone have upcoming races? How are you feeling for them? I've got a half-marathon on the 19th which I am not ready for. I can complete the distance but my time will not be admirable! At least I've got the rest of my life to improve on it! I have to keep reminding myself that this time last year I couldn't even walk (it was 1 month after surgery), and I've made great strides -- there's a pun in there somewhere... :P Let's get discussion going!! I am getting my trisuit (hopefully) tomorrow, and I've already got my wetsuit which I am dying to try out at my cottage. It fits like a GLOVE. I've got one question: are there hand or foot protector thingies to keep me warm? The main problem I had with the swim portion last year was freezing cold fingers and toes; the rest of my body was decently warm. Do these things exist and can they be used in a triathlon? I didn't realise that we've been relegated to the "archives", I've been looking at the normal mentor thread and didn't see us there, didn't realise it was the new mentor thread and just thought it might be a problem with the new site! How is everyone? I've just had a four-day weekend due to Easter and its been fab. I haven't done as much training as I wanted to do but so be it, its a holiday! I've spent lots of time with family and its been good.

I've had my last day of school and am about to enter exam period. I've been training but the weather's been horrid so I've focused on swimming. I absolutely cannot WAIT until summer arrives and I can spend all day outside. Good luck for your exams!!! When exactly are they? I can understand your excitement waiting for summer! We're in autumn here but we've had the most glorious Easter weekend, its been 30-35C/85-95F everyday and absolutely lovely! We have some guests staying from Ireland and they think its wonderful, they've had a really cold winter. Today its raining though and I was hoping to get my long run done - probably won't happen at this rate! Anyone have upcoming races? How are you feeling for them? I've got a half-marathon on the 19th which I am not ready for. I can complete the distance but my time will not be admirable! At least I've got the rest of my life to improve on it! I can't wait! I am feeling nervous but also I feel prepared. The training has made a huge difference in my training. Good luck for your half marathon - if you can complete the distance thats all that matters really! And then you'll have a time you can improve on next time Let's get discussion going!! Erm ... I am not sure if you can get feet and hand warmers. I don't think you can, I've never seen them. But then again its really warm here and we wear wetsuits for buoyancy not warmth! I know you can get Neoprene caps that cover your head and ears though. Maybe ask on one of the triahtlon question forums here on the site? What brand trisuit and wetsuit do you have? I have a Jaggad trisuit and a Blue Seventy Reaction sleeveless wetsuit |

I think the new lot of April mentoring has started up, so we're relegated to archives! I think we'll be here until the end of the year, when the new Dec/Jan mentor threads start up

We have some guests staying from Ireland and they think its wonderful, they've had a really cold winter. Oh, exams, I've got 1 tomorrow, 1 the day after and... eurgh, another 1 almost 2 wks later! I can't wait until this week is done to really return to some high quality training. If there's anything worse for a triathlete, it is the feeling of being trapped motionless (at a desk, in my case) with very little time for training! Erm ... I am not sure if you can get feet and hand warmers. I don't think you can, I've never seen them. But then again its really warm here and we wear wetsuits for buoyancy not warmth! I have a Jaggad trisuit and a Blue Seventy Reaction sleeveless wetsuit I ended up finding some feet warmers. I don't think I can use them, but I haven't had time to fully research up on them. I do know, however, that I'll use them nevertheless when I go up to my cottage for some grand solo OWS! My trisuit is Zoot (http://www.zootsports.com/product_info.php?cPath=3_26&products_id=4996 in the Mermaid color) and my wetsuit is the full body, long sleeves Nineteen suit (http://www.nineteenwetsuits.com/pipeline.html) for women. I can't wait to try them out! First... I've got to get through the next few days! |

Master 4119 Toronto | Subject: RE: Eurydice79 (Magda's) Group - FULL Magda - that's so exciting that your race is so close now!! :D Are you feeling ready? You've been doing some awesome training! Krystyna - way to go on your half marathon! sounds like you've come a long way since your knee surgery! As for me I am coming along I have a 10k running race this weekend. I haven't raced a 10k since I started running in 2005. So, I expect a PR. Though, I am not doing any specific race prep and no taper or anything. I am also happy to report that swimming is coming along nicely! I picked up the beginner swim program from this site and i am into the third week now. I am really happy with the structure and it gives a good sense of where I am. The swims are still short but I need to remind myself that I am a true beginner in this! Oh and it's starting to warm up here which is a breath of fresh air for training! :D So much nicer to go out for runs in daylight AND i think i'll actually be taking my bike outside soon!! :D :D |

Thanks Jen! Yes I am super excited. I am feeling good. I know I will be slow but I think I am fit enough for the distance. The run will be a lot of hard work but luckily its at the end! I am really glad to hear you're swimming is coming along. Good luck for your 10k race this weekend! I hope you get that PR Regarding the weather, we have the opposite here! Its getting dark early now and its very cold in the mornings, this morning I was swimming outside in 7C/45F, luckily its a heated pool! Then I took my husband's car in for a service and rode my bike home, I had to get out my arm warmers and wind vest!!!

Sadly not to Montreal or Toronto though, he lives in Vancouver. I'm going on my own because we can't afford for Sef to go as well, but my mum and grandparents will come so it'll be fantastic. I am SO excited. I love Vancouver! And it'll be nice to get away from the winter here
