Good job Comet.  The clue is to "move".  Thats at least 3 miles for you this week....keep it up and keep those knees healthy.

Shermmie,  Way to go "old" man.   What did you do,  Quit your job?  Getting some good mileage now.

Help!  I am steadily losing in my body fat percentages, but seem to be fluctuating (gaining) weight then, going back down a couple of pounds.  Could it be my Diet Cokes addiction?

Any suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks.

Fluctuating is totally normal - especially if you weigh yourself multiple times a week/day. I can gain 3 pounds one day, lose it back the next, lose 2 more the next day, etc. A lot depends on your water intake/retention; also time of day you weigh, what you do before then, etc.

Plenty of people will tell you diet Coke is to blame...I personally have a diet Pepsi addiction, and I don't blame any of my problems on it. I gave up a lot of stuff I loved to drop my first 50 pounds, but I'm not giving up everything so I keep the diet Pepsi and the wine.

I have 15-20 pounds more to lose, but I've kept the 50 off for almost 2 years now. I've come this far without giving up diet Pepsi - I'm not willing to give it up for the next 15.

Geez - a girl weighs in 1 day late and gets kicked off the spreadsheet???

You know I can't weigh in on Wednesdays, because my scale is set to be 3 pounds heavier on Wednesdays.

That scale is out to get you...it knows...now that you are weighing in on Thursdays it will start making you three pounds heavier on Thursday and lighter on Wednesday...there is no winning with a possessed scale

I'll tell you...when it rains, it pours. I had a blow out last night on the way home from work. And I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I had to call a guy friend to help me change it. But I'm happy to report that since I've seen it done once, I think I should be able to do it myself the next time. So I'm off today to go get it fixed which will most likely mean a new tire.

I told you, its I am college dude cramming for final exams. If only I can get the eating right. I have great intentions but get back from a 3-5 hour ride and just slap on the ole feed bag and go to town.

Sounds like a classic case of building muscle while burning fat. Two things to note with this, first, muscle weighs more than fat, and secondly the higher the muscle content you have the more calories your body burns. So, hopefully this is a good thing to you. keep up the great work.

Saling you might be able to consider that doing P90X plus any length run/other physical activity as doubles... They try to stress that recovery is key though. That's why I never got crazy with it.

Not to correct Josh (The College Student) or anything but a pound of fat and a pound of muscle "weigh" the same.  The muscle pound is just packed a lot tighter.

Enders:  You will NEVER be kicked off the spread sheet.  I was just letting the Wed. weighers know where they stood.  By the way you gained a diet pepsi.

Studies done on diet soda have mostly shown that they have no effect on a persons health.  Of course those studies were funded by the same people that are selling the product,  but heck we listen to politicians lie all the time.

Studies done by independant sources normally find (approx. 96%) that simulated sweetners DO harm your body,  but hey I am just saying.  EAT REAL SUGAR at least your body knows what that is.

But as a diabetic artificial sweetners don't raise my blood sugar as much...don't know if this is true for everyone but it is for me...so for me it is worth it to keep my bs in the acceptable range.

I do believe I'm the clumsiest person in the world. I stumbled getting up from my seat on Saturday at a wedding reception which left my friend thinking that I was drunk. Last night going through the break room at work, they were mopping and I slipped, rolled my ankle and fell square on my knee. I didn't even know what was happening until I was down on the floor. Perhaps I need some training wheels to help me with complicated stuff like walking.

I am now left to wait to start my training until my whole right leg isn't sore from the trauma I insist on putting it through. I just need one thing in my life to go right for a little so I can feel a little sense of hope.

I posted some 1st week P90X photos in my album and have came to the conclusion that Enders is right....sigh!  I am just a skinny little old guy.....  Kind of depressing actually,  I always knew I was getting old, but skinny and little is not something I strive for at all.
