Horrible day of swimming!  Not sure what happened but I couldn't put together a good 100 yards for the life of me.  I will go back tomorrow and try to redeem myself.  I am just not a fan of the swim.  In general, I love to hit the lake and swim recreationally but swimming for miles doing the stupid crawl stroke kills me.  I love running, enjoy the bike but swimming is definitely my "Everest".  The distance isn't as scary as the time cutoff.  Normally I swim with a consistent bilateral breathing pattern.  Today I had to take a breath every time my right arm went up for a stroke.  Funny enough I seemed to be just as fast that way but the whole time I was swimming I felt my heart beating through my chest.

Guess I will chaulk it up to an off day and start adding some more time in the water. Grrrrrr!!!

Happy Friday, enjoy the weekend.

Sorry you had a bad day swimming. Check it off and start fresh on another day. Are you sure you aren't getting sick?

Nice 3000 OWS today. I even got a little sunburned on my back. I'm going out for an 8 mile run in a few minutes.

Yesterday couldn't swim 100 yards without losing my breath......today I swim 2000 yards and have the best swim of my life.  Go figure!

Don't know how you fast swimmers do it.  I average 1:30 for every 100 yards give or take five seconds.  First 300 yards or so is faster but otherwise consistent.  I am envious of you fish out there.

They won't all be good, that's for sure!  I had a GREAT weekend of training last weekend...only to have an awful weekend of training this weekend!  If all training days were good, more people would do it  Now to get some rest so I can get back to those GREAT training days

By the way I meant 1:30 for every 50 yards!  I guess it won't let you edit your post after 30 minutes.  Boy do I wish I could do a 100 yards in that amount of time.

Off to work, happy training

I had and OK run only 6.5 miles but it felt like 10. Then headed to the pool felt great until I got a tapped from the lifeguard that someone pooped in the pool. Man that ticks me off. They cleaned it up. But after that I was done. I could no get back in.

So, a good recovery week the finished with a fun Olympic race (how funny is it that racing an Oly is part of a recovery week?!? Haha, how you know you're training for an IM!) yesterday!  Yesterday's bike was nice and flat, and that always makes me happy about FL, but the run had some monster hills in it, and that also made me happy about FL!
Nice big week again this week. I actually kind of missed heavy training during the recovery week (though I needed the recovery!), so that makes me happy too because it means I'm in the groove with all the hours.

Okay, so, going to throw it out there BUT with the BIG caveat that I CANNOT take charge of it in total (too many things on my plate as it is), but do we want to do BT IMFL t-shirts? It was done last year and was nice, IMKY guys do it, IMAZ is doing it...might be nice, and I know of a couple of companies that are good--but would need help with design and someone to head it up. I might can help but really, I cannot take charge...as much as I want to, I just can't!  Thoughts?

If you wanted the same shirts as last year with the date changed it wouldn't be a problem.  Maybe you could change the shirt color.

I'll take one if someone wants to make the order.  Who did them last year?

Kicked off the week with a 5 mile run followed by a 1.2 mile swim.  What do y'all have on plans?

I thought I was moving pretty good on my swim until I stopped and realized it took me just under an hour to go half the IM distance.  I don't understand how you speed demons finish the whole swim in the time it takes me to do half.  Oh well, anything under 2:20 is good with me this first time around.

Happy Monday.

I did them last year.  We did regular t-shirts and dry-fits.  We also had support crew shirts for friends, family, and volunteers.  Here is the artwork for the back.

Nice shirt. Do we have pics of anyone wearing them from last year?

Rest day today. Seems like I rest more than anyone else that is going to IMFL! Guess that is what happens when you're old.

I love last year's design (I have a support crew t-shirt) and think it would be fine to maintain, and then maybe change it up with a different color.

jccbulldog--totally appreciate you offering up all the info.  So, now the question becomes who is going to lead up the charge? I tell you what, I can help keep lists of all the orders, etc. What I don't have the time/capability to do right now is receive the payment, make the order, and then ship out the shirts to individuals.  So, I'm willing to assist someone that can take on that roll.

I was thinking an orange (not neon, but kind of rust-like) might go well with it all and keeps in the "FL" theme, plus, it'd make it easy to spot the other BT'ers.

Ha Ha, I was thinking the same thing when I did my Oly this weekend - funny how that has become a "workout' so to speak. Did a swim and run the day before and my husband said "shouldn't you be tapering?" and I said "that is tapering", funny how all that chenges for an IM.

As for the T-shirts I'm in!  both for me and the family crew that is coming out to support in PC!

I would't mind taking care of the ordering and shipping if someone else could take the individual orders and collect the money.  The company I ordered them from is local and is great to work with.  Let me know.  We cut it pretty close last year so it would be great to have a cut-off of October 1st.  Prices last year were $15 for a regular t-shirt and $23.50 for a dry-fit.  I'd imagine they would be about the same this year or maybe a little cheaper if they saved the screens.

Has anyone else noticed it's almost August!  YIKES!!!!!!!

The shirt design looks great.  My wife is actually a partner in an imprintable sportswear manufacturing company.  However, they only produce infant-toddler, girls, juniors, and women's stuff.  No men's or technical T's.  Wish I could have gotten us a discount.  Oh well.

Have a fantastic Tuesday everyone.

Would love an update on the road conditions, I heard they were atrocious last year! Are you doing the IMFL training weekend thingy or are you just in the area that week?
