I read something about a pump drop-off area at T1 you can leave your pump in so it'll be transported to T2 for pick-up at the end of the race.  Be sure to tag it with your name and bib # though as I don't think they are taking responsibility if anyone snags it.

PLMsbr - 2009-10-22 10:01 AM I think I've got most of this transition stuff figured out (unless it changes), but there is one thing I haven't been able to solve yet - what do I do with my bike pump after I pump up my tires?

I plan to paint or marker my bike pump with my race number, and hope a friend or family member is there to hand it off to. Nobody wants to be up that early to watch me flounder in the water like a near-sighted, one-legged duck... If I lose my air pump, I'll be out $30, but its been a good pump, and has served me well. It won't be a crisis if I lose it after the race.

There will be some equipment support team at T1, but they should be busy enough with real mechanical issues, not there to air up everyone's tires.

Good luck everyone!

Yep, I just found that info in the latest email they had sent out (copied below). I am seriously behind in so many areas of my life, as the IM training is starting to take it's toll

************

We’ve also had questions regarding bike pumps on race morning. Do NOT place your bike pump in either your gear bag or your MORNING CLOTHES BAG. They will not be transported that way. Your best bet is to bring a pump and hand it to a family member to transport for you. We’ll also have some pumps available on race morning. Additionally, we’re going to set up a BIKE PUMP DROP OFF box, located at the MORNING DRY CLOTHES DROP OFF box truck area. Feel free to bring a pump, and drop it off there. We will transport these pumps, but can’t be responsible for them. They’ll be dropped off at the Luedecke Arena, next to the GEAR BAG pick up area. It’s a good idea to place your name and bib number on them. Please remember that if you choose to do this, we aren’t responsible for lost/misplaced pumps!

Questions for the organizers:

Is parking free for spectators?

Can spectators bring their own food&drinks?

Thanks!

Good luck to everyone participating!

I will be there cheering you all on.  Not going to watch anyone in particular, just love the sport so decided to drive up from College Station to cheer everyone one!  I know how much I love to have people just yelling for me when I have done the few triathlons I have done.  I will be the loud person yelling (or at least that is what I was told at my mom/sisters tri.)  They said they could hear me from a mile away yelling other people on at the finish line :-D

Wave 12

To whoever asked... last year as a spectator I brought my own food/drinks in a soft cooler. There is team tailgaiting, so lots of peeps bring coolers and grills and food and beer and what not.

Accuweather says high of 79 and turning partly cloudy and humid later in the day.

I thought I was the only one that counted their wave numbers. I think I remember reading something about starting waist deep. If I pull my shorts up really high, do I get a head start in deeper water?

I didn't count, I opened it in Word, highlighted my cap color and did a "search for all." 202 in my wave, 404 in my age group.

There's not a "beach" in that area wide enough for 200 people to go in at once. I'm glad there's 5 minutes between waves. The beginning of each wave will be like swimming in a washing machine. I can't wait!

Cool

Last year they did 3 minutes between waves and it worked out just fine imo. I've been kicked way more in other races than I ever was at Longhorn.

BIB# 1923, Wave 13,  Good Luck to everyone and have a safe race!

Side Note: Any tips on peeling off a wetsuit?  I just got on and have used it three times, and can believe how diffucult it is to remove only when you get to the lower ankles.
