jcagg90 - 2009-10-30 7:17 PM I have to take issue with Jazzwithnumbers' take on chipseal.  I happen to like chipseal!  It makes my taint tingle for hours after I ride!

We are trying to have an intelligent discussion and you go and make this silly post. I think you need to change your handle to TaintBoy90.

Loved the race.  Having raced at this venue numerous times, I really appreciated the split transitions.

I was disappointed to hear that my volunteer friends were given their box lunch and 1 bottle of water at 6:00 am for the entire day.  They were told they would have to buy any additional water at 2.50 per.  Treat the volunteers better or they won't be back!

That's definitely not true about the water. Don't know who told them that! We had soda, water, gatorade...as much as they wanted!!! I'd love to know who told them that. We had crews driving the course/site all day dropping off additional food and drinks all day. Sorry if we missed someone.

My guess is they went to the food tent, where it was run by the caterers. Yes, they'd have charged them. It must have been miscommunication. We had gators going around giving drinks/food all day...

My first HIM and it was a great race!  The organization and care shows through and I am looking forward to other Endorfun events.  Yes arena!  Yes 2 transitions!

The only problem: the bar has been set too high!  Other event organizers are pale by comparison.  Keep up the good work!

Keith,

I understand this kind of stuff happens.  I'll see if I can get more details and get back to you so it won't happen next year.  I think it was someone from EF, but I will confirm.

My brother-in-law was a volunteer and said he had a blast. He also said he was very well taken care of. I wonder where the info about treating volunteers bad came from?

I got clarification from my friends that volunteered.  They were never brought more water during the day.  When they asked (other volunteers), no one knew where to get more water or who to flag down.  Maybe brighter volunteer shirts so no one gets missed next yr??

It was NOT anyone from EndorFun/the race organizers that told them to buy water.

Thanks for the info. We take this very seriously!!!! The volunteers are the soul of the event, and taking good care of them is one of our most important tasks.....

Keith, did you say you were going to post the race day video?  My family and friends LOVED watching the live feed and seeing/hearing my name announced as I crossed the finish line.  And they watched for me on every loop of the run - they had a blast.  I think that was a very cool feature.  Between the GPS tracking and your live video, my (very large) virtual cheering crowd felt like they were actually there at the race with me.  My brother posted the link on Facebook as he was watching the race and tons of people joined in to watch - it inspired some to get out and try triathlons too.  First class event all the way.

The finish line video just sits there at 'connecting...' for me. The GB interview worked, but not the finish line.

The finish line video worked for me, just took a LONG time to finally connect (several minutes).

Hey Keith, is there anywhere we can find our gun time to compare to that clock? The chip results all show actual time but not gun time, at least that I can find. I found myself because I remember what it said for me(I'm almost 7:46 on the dot), but doing the math for friends is hit & miss.

jonny, go to the pictures that action sports international emailed you and go to the upper left corner where it says "event home" then you can type in your friends last name...check out the picture of their finish time and go back to the video around that time...that's what i did anyway to see some people finish...just a suggestion.
