Snowed in!  In Georgia!  I know, all you northerners are laughing at the south being snowed in with just 3-4 inches of snow.  But you have to realize that most southerners do not know how to drive in the snow and ice.  I'm a transplanted northerner, but I learned my first snow storm in GA to stay off the roads.  Not because I couldn't drive in it, but to stay out of the way of the southerners who think they can and careen into you.  LOL

Anyway, it has shot my whole weekend.  Swimming was out last night and today due to the weather.  The motorcycle club was having it's annual Sweetheart Poker Run which is our fundraiser.  I don't know if anyone has showed up, but since my street is snow covered ice and a hill, and we live an hour away, we are not even attempting to leave.  My son had to go to work (stupid job) and it took him over an hour to drive what usually takes him 25-30 minutes.  He called and told us to not go out unless we had to.

The Library is going to open late today at noon.  Glad it is my day off, but feel bad for my staff who have to go in.  Most of them live within 2-3 miles of the library so that isn't too bad.

Tomorrow was our last tennis match of the season.  Unless the temp gets up there and melts everything today I don't think we will be playing tomorrow.

Then they are predicting more snow on Sunday night to Monday morning.  And Monday is my day off.  Dang it!

Hope that everyone else is having a great weekend.

Kendra, you have my sympathy.  When we get even a few inches out here, everything stops.  This winter is mild but last winter was a lot of snow.  It is frustrating to have so many plans put awry.  Take care and try to enjoy!

I'm planning on doing a short ride with a couple of wicked hills today.  I haven't done this route since before I was pregnant so I'm not sure what to expect.  Wish me luck and send vibes so I don't chicken out and do a more mellow ride.

I read yesterday that 49 states (all except Hawaii) have measurable snow. I'd be surprised if there weren't also snow on the peaks of Haleakela, too.

Whew!  Got the bike ride done!  A friend went with me.  We had fun.  It was difficult.  One hill is 2 miles long and between 6 and 8 percent.  The second one is a b!tch!  It is 0.6 miles and 17 percent!  The rest of the ride is just a bunch of relentless rollers.

I'm running tomorrow!

Okay team, made it out of the neighborhood by mid afternoon.  Since the rest of my events were over I went swimming.  So I got my LOVE swim in and am at 50%.

I noticed that as a team we are only at 38%.  I hope that is only because people haven't logged their love events on the spreadsheet.  Lets go TEAM HEARTS!

Hi Hearts. I got in a swim this morning and then added to my <3 cycling goal with 40 minutes on the trainer. I'm definitely on track to hit my goal by Feb 22 - I won't have access to a bike after that and I knew that when I laid out my goals.Good luck cranking out some serious progress on your goals today!Dan

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm planning a long(ish) ride on the trainer but right now I'm not feeling it.

Please remember to update the spreadsheet as I'll be posting the week two standings tomorrow around noon.

Feel the Love!

Happy Valentines Day!!!!

I'll be heading out soon to do the baby Swap-and-Run with my husband.  On Sunday's, he runs with a running group early in the morning.  Baby and I drive to meet him at their parking place where I meet with a friend or two for a run.  He takes baby home.  It works perfect!  I wish we could run together for Valentines but we didn't get anyone to take care of baby for us.  Oh well.  We both love running so it works to help each other out.

Have a great day everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I got my 13-mile long run in yesterday, and this morning was a 9-mile tempo run.  I was feeling pretty good during my tempo run, and I think I'm getting faster!

My friend picked up his trainer yesterday and I'm not sure when mine is coming in. . . So I'm not sure what to do about my love challenge.  I was already behind from being really busy this week, and not having a trainer this weekend will put me even more behind!  Hopefully mine will come in tomorrow, that way I can make up for some lost trainer time while I have the day off.  If not, I may have to adjust my goals either to make up for the time that I don't have a trainer (how ever long that may be), or maybe just switch it and have my run be my new love goal?  (I'm not willing to ride outdoors because of all the ice/snow/salt everywhere, so it's trainer or no biking for me...)

Great runs!

Let's see if your trainer shows up tomorrow. If not, let me know how you want to adjust your goal.

Awesome job on the race!  It is always amazing how in a race we run faster than we do on our own.  Adrenalin is wonderful.

Happy Valentines Day.
Today was a beautiful sunny day.
Played tennis for 2.5 hours and lost, but it was a really close match.  6-4, 4-6, 4-6.  They were also really nice so that makes it even better.
