Today I switched from morning swims to afternoon. When I arrived there were 8 lanes with 2 people swimming; I hopped into lane 6 and was loving the peace. 15 minutes later the teen swimmers showed up for practice and I had to move over to lane 4. It's humbling swimming next to these kids; even the kid with the cast on his arm who was doing nothing but kickboard was faster than me.

Week 3 Challenge Update!

Team Bill -- Check out Bill's progress! He's biked 1181.79 in June!
http://freedomtour.opwc.org/

Team 3 - 56.9%
Team 2 - 53.7%

The month is now 70% over -- and I think that Bill is blowing away both teams by miles and miles!

Confession:  I had big plans for some high-volume training today.  Instead, I ate steak, drank wine and watched World Cup soccer.  I will not apologize.

Wow, Bill's a beast!!

So, our team percentage is now actually slightly lower because I've upped my bike goal (thanks Dee!)...  Whaddya know, my bike mileage has increased dramatically from last month ever since I started bike commuting everywhere!  I would also claim it's saved me a lot of money in terms of bus & train fares except that I keep buying bike accessories to offset that perk Wink

This morning I got my first yoga class in of the month.  I don't know why I keep skipping these 6:30am classes because I always feel so great afterward!  I might go to another one tomorrow!

No need to apologize for missing the workout.  You might want to apologize for making everyone jealous though

Still in first, nice job everyone!

Bill's bike mileage is insane.  I cannot even fathom doing that.

So I think I am going to wind up short on my run goal for the month.  I based my mileage on how I typically recover from a HIM.  Unfortunately my running legs have been slow to return.  My calves are still mad at me   I'm not considering it an injury, just me being cautious returning to training, so I won't ask for a goal reduction.  I am, however, going to make a serious attempt to go over my swim and bike goal to hopefully balance things out.  Those are both looking good right now.

I asked Dee if I could completely cancel my swim goal.  I haven't swam since my bike crash on 6/5, and the doctor said that I shouldn't be swimming for a while as there are strained ligaments in my shoulder that will take some time to heal properly.

If I prorated my swim goal up to 6/5, I would have been well over 100%, but I thought that wouldn't be fair.

I'm on track to go way over my bike goal, and my run goal will be close.

Sleeping goal is still on track...LOL

I had a nice swim this morning, and plan to take a bike ride, too. I might take a nice long ride and finish off my goal. Training next week will be hit and miss, mostly miss. Only a couple miles left to run, and few yards to swim.

This could make three days in a row of sunshine!

So yesterday, I went to yoga class in the morning and my first mile-swim in open water of the season.  I've really been neglecting my swimming in favor of biking recently, and it looks like I've gotten much slower.... But after this weekend, I'm going to start focusing more on my swim once I get all my long bike rides under my belt (will start tapering down the long rides after this weekend, so I'll have more time to focus on swimming).

In terms of this month's goals, I will still go over my bike goal, even after having it adjusted.  I'm lagging behind on my run goal, but I should get up to at least 90%; like Neal, I misjudged my recovery time--I was much more tired and sore after my relay race than I thought I would be!  I should be able to hit 100% on my strength/yoga and swim goals, though.

Sorry I haven't been posting much.  I've been really busy.  I am plugging away at my goals, though.  I am going to come up a bit short on my running goal due to shifting some workouts around.  It won't be too bad.  I hope everyone is having a great month!  Cheers!

I finally logged some much-needed time on the run.  I'll be down to the wire on my swim and run goals, but should make it.  Bill is really giving us all a spanking--we'll just have to take it out on Team 2!  Go Team 3.

Team - I have to appologize that I'm pretty much neglecting my run for the rest of the month.  So I'll likely fall way short on that goal...maybe 70% if I'm lucky enough to get a couple more runs in

I've been making huge strides on the bike...and it's been wiping me out.  Going for a 85+ mile ride tomorrow, and a 45 mile ride on Sunday.

Where is everyone?

Myself, life has been far too hectic and stressful and I've barely had any free time for chatting. I've been doing all my workouts and I'm ahead of pace for my two goals.

It's summertime. Probably outside.

Hey guys!

I'm almost all done...all I have left is around 30 minutes of swimming and 2 core/foam rolling

I'm already over 100% on everything else so maybe that will help out some of you guys who might be short this month.

Hi team!  I managed to get my first 100 miler of the season in today.  I didn't get to leave as early as I wanted to because it was still storming at 5:30 when I initially woke up.  I enjoyed an extra hour and half of sleep until the sun woke me.  Unfortunately the storm left some pretty strong winds around and the later departure meant the temps had gotten up to 90 for the last couple hours.

I survived though, and was pretty happy with how things turned out.  Now I'm going to see how many recovery beers it takes to put me to sleep
