It was cool...there were about 500 people there. Dan Mariino spoke, and like I joked about last week, someone actually stood up and asked him how the Nutrisystem was treating him. Funny stuff. Most of the awards were for highschoolers, but mine was for athletes who have assembled a "body of work". I was nominated for making the long course World's Team last year, winning a national championship in open water swimming a few years ago, placing at mountain bike nationals, being an all-american swimmer, and for coaching TNTers. I was honored just to be nominated. Oh...and they also presented the Ray Guy award for the nation's best college punter (Ray Guy is from Augusta and is the best punter in NFL history). |
