January Challenge Week 3 (aka, The World According to Beth) There was talk about football in most of the threads, ‘tis the season isn’t it! So, we’re down to the Giants and the Patriots for the Superbowl. Oddly enough Little Debbie showed up in multiple threads as well, hmmmmm – ok, Dee and I confess to and apologize for hijacking some of the threads (having said that, I don’t think we can promise it won’t happen again, just feel free to kick us out ) Hey, Little Debbie and football – sounds like the makings of a party! Going to get in a run during lunch today. I want to reach that 120% mark if I can.
dcossey Hey I've been DFL in overall position before. Dead last in your category is no big deal! Loved your race report! I'm not dissapointed. I still made it into the Top Ten in my category even though I came last. (tee hee hee) I'll do better next year. I'll be in the next age group up by then so it should be a blast! |

Bah work is sucking, 2nd "day off" I had to work in the last week or so and still not caught up, workouts sucking, lots of aches and pains, did some comfort eating and gained some weight back, motivation low. Did get in 7 miles today so making my goal wont be a problem. I really need to stop changing altitudes every comple weeks. I probably also need to be buying a new pair of shoes some time soon. Snow, Ice, cold, kids are going nuts, getting cabin feavor I guess. I guess thats enough /rant off I am sure you have all been there. I am cutting my distances down, hoping things stabalize as far as my body goes. For a while there I forgot that I am 40 something and not 20 something. Ya ya I know it aint gona get any better. Just means I got to take it slow and steady to build up bases. I should meet my monthly goal next run 87/90 or some such. |

Cycling Guru 15134 Fulton, MD | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. 8.2 in this morning. Puts me at 178.9. Getting there! But with bagging my 16 this past weekend it makes it much more of a focused effort as I have used up most of my "cushion" that I built into my goal. Don't worry, I won't let the team down and I'll hit my goal! Edit: And I signed up for Boston officially yesterday, so another marathon on the schedule just 6 weeks after I go for the fast one. Veteran 144 Tucson | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. Can I just say that living out of a suitcase, sleeping in hotel room after hotel room and having no real viable option other than eating out every meal stinks? That's been my life for half this month and four out of the last five weeks. Though I love my job, it's not helping out the training... I'm finally back home for the forseeable future and am now able to get back on the wagon I fell off of seemingly long ago. So...rant is over and now...it's time to run. And run. And run.... |

Is home tokyo? If we listen to their definition of "home is where the heart is" then I'd say no, but Tokyo is where I live, where my bed is and where I'll reside for the next year. So...I guess we could say "Yes". |

Elite 5316 Alturas, California | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. 7.5 miles for me tonight. Mental note 2 hours 45 min is not enough time after dinner before running, very bad. Oh well toughed it out 94/90, goal for month met, rest of miles are gravey. The time I took off last week seems to have done me some good, legs were fine tonight, a little less fatigue, stomach issues aside. To not overdue it while remaining consistent and not losing ground, balence not easily obtained in life or in tri training. Oh well off to bed, sleep well. And nice runs there 14 miles ) at that pace. You know your run total is nearing my bike total... Edited by Baowolf 2008-01-24 2:14 AM |

Extreme Veteran 466 | Subject: RE: Loving every mile aka L.E.M. 3 miler tonight put me at 81.48/80 so this LEMming is done! I wasn't sure what my recovery post-Goofy would be so my goal may have been slightly lowball since I'm feeling okay but this gives me the opportunity to shoot for higher. I'm doing slow easy miles with walking warm ups and cool downs. The walking is for injury prevention and the slow easy is for base building. We'll see how that goes. Hopefully I'll get faster at the same low end HR. I know it's going to take time and patience for that to work though. |
