Subject: RE: TEAM SKINNY 03/01/08 (March Madness)I have a general question.... If anybody knows or has insight... How do we know that our metabolism has kicked in? Generally, you might think, I'm losing weight, I must be burning cal more than usual. But what if the scale is so spastic that no discernable weight loss is noticed over time? And how can we know without out finding out what our lean body mass index is before and/or after? ( personally I don't have the money to go get tested every couple of wks/months ). So if all we have is a scale ( that doesn't show BF % ) and our workouts, how do we know if our metabolism has kicked in? One idea I've been toying with is increased appetite. But is this because of diet restrictions? ( eating certain foods vs. eating at specific times ) Because I would have thought that over time the body would become used to eating those 5-6 meals a day and the constant hungar would subside due to a conditioned response, "It's time to eat!" I find I'm hungry all day long, and next to pain, it's one of the worst feelings ever. True torture sometimes. |
