Was not fun trying to PRY the eyes open the next morning. Funny thing is, I slept in my contacts ALL the time during college and grad school (esp. when dating someone - I'm so blind that during "gettin' it on" I didn't want to elbow the dude in the face or something). And never had a problem. Then back in September, my eyes said 'enough is enough'. Isn't that part of the fun? But not very romantic... |

![]() Sprint_DA - 2008-07-17 10:08 AM Wow, it's going to suck that everyone's leaving and TAN will be dead for a while...I'm getting into an "I hate people phase" again, and you guys were the only people I figured I'd be talking to. |

I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be dead in here. I won't be on either as I will be traveling up North for the SoR race. |

Morning TAN. I am back from the 'burgh. What'd you think? I <3 Pittsburgh. Absolutely awesome city with a lot of great people. Not at all what I thought of when someone said Pittsburgh. BTW - maybe I was just lucky, but there seemed to be a disproportinately large amount of well-endowed women in the greater Pittsburgh area. |

My eye doc changed me to the Acuvue Oasis brand since I refuse to take them out ![]() That's what I wear now too, but my eye is still mad at me. What's your negative number for your contacts? I have some cute glasses from college (OMG forever ago) that I haven't updated the perscription because even back then, and with a thick frame, the lenses were so thick they were thicker than the frame. Helloooo coke bottle glasses! Sigh. I want Lasik so bad, but my eye doc says to wait until my eyes don't change for a few years. Hasn't happened yet. They will stablilize for a year, then get a little worse. My contacts are -6.5 in both I think... |

Nova Scotia, and pretty much any kind of fishing I feel like doing. It's all there. This trip will probably be a lot of simple fresh water fishing so I can teach my kids.
Cool. I'm partial to fly fishing myself. Sounds like a blast. Have fun! Probably won't be any fly fishing just because it's too hard to trek a 6 and 8 year old into a proper fly spot. My grandfather gave away most of his boating equipment for some reason so all of the life preservers are gone and someone stole his aluminum boat. That's how I used to get to all of the good wide brooks in the area. I could canoe it with them to a couple small ones if the life preservers were still around. I won't take the kids out without them. |

BTW - maybe I was just lucky, but there seemed to be a disproportinately large amount of well-endowed women in the greater Pittsburgh area. It's FULL of hot chicks. Go to the South Side on a weekend....DAAAAAMMMMM. Yeah, I don't really know why people bash Pittsburgh. They say it's dirty and the people are hicks... but that's not true at all. It's actually a rather clean city. Left over from another era. They have done quite a bit to clean up the city. I agree, it is not only clean, but quite pretty. And I love coming out of the tunnel and you are all of a sudden on a bridge over the river. THAT is COOL! |

My eye doc changed me to the Acuvue Oasis brand since I refuse to take them out ![]() That's what I wear now too, but my eye is still mad at me. One is -5.5 and the other is -5.something? They're pretty close in 'badness' now - for awhile, one was way worse than the other, but now the one eye has slowed in degenerating - guess that's good. My glasses lenses aren't thick at all - unless you're REALLY blind, these days, they do a good job of making them not look like coke bottle glasses. I have cute rectangular brownish plastic frames with a little bit of red in them (hard to describe, but they're cute and give me sort of a Tina Fey look). |

![]() Scout7 - 2008-07-17 10:14 AM I have a -7.5 in one eye, and a -8.0 in the other. Holy carp! Though, in another 10 years, I'll probably be pretty close! I don't care what they say about reading, etc not really damaging your eyes. My vision got WAY worse in grad school - I was already blind, but my prescription went up, it seemed. Have you taken the incline up to Mt. Washington? AMAZING! No, I haven't. I was only in for a day and a half on a business trip. But I can imagine how nice it is. |

![]() | ![]() Well, I do believe I am out for the day. Don't get another TAN pulled before I get back, if you can avoid it.
And now I'm off...to spread my own variety of negativity to the good people of Central Iowa (don't worry, JDW or Cami, I won't make it as far as Des Moines). Maybe this feeling will wear off by the time I get to my first stop in an hour or so. |

![]() crowny2 - 2008-07-17 10:18 AM I have 20/15 vision. ![]() GFY I'd get Lasik, but I don't trust that in 20 years, my eyeballs aren't going to shrivel up and fall out of my head or something. Not enough long term studies on this. |

![]() Rynamite - 2008-07-17 10:20 AM I don't wear glasses/contacts at all. This chick I've been hanging out with a little works as a tech for an optomitrist. She did her little eye test thing on me, then told me I sucked cuz my vision was so good They're really sensitive to light, though. My eyes are often closed in pictures because of the flash, and I wear sunglasses even if it's kinda cloudy. I can see really well at night, however. That's because you are the spawn of Satan... |
