Artemis - 2008-09-05 11:13 AM How is it the yogurt I'm eating doesn't have an expiration date? I think that's strange.

strange that it doesn't have an expiration date?  Or is the yogurt itself tasting strange?  (pronoun antecedent needed, please.)

-B

Strange that it doesn't have an expiration date.  The yogurt tastes fine.

Sounds like costochondritis. The ribs are mainly cartilage where they connect to the sternum, and sometimes the cartilage/bone interface can get inflammed. Motrin usually does the trick.

If this is a new thing, though, go see a doc and get evaluated. Usually a physical exam, chest X-ray, and EKG will suffice, but sometimes more studies are needed. Once it's clear that your heart and lungs are in fact OK, then the Motrin should do the trick...

I say it's psychosomatic and he needs a lobotomy.

 That too. :D

Just got off the phone with the good folks at Blackwell Research... ordered up a pair of race wheels, the 100mm uber-deep wheels. I'm freakin' psyched!!!

As I mentioned before, my pimped-out Cervelo will help me do the one thing I do well--ride a bike fast. As for running and swimming, I just hope I don't die in the ocean and that I manage to finish my run before sundown.

So, I went to a new Doc. two weeks ago to establish a base line.  They took some blood to do a work up and I was supposed to go in today to review the results.  My wife called them to see if it could just be done over the phone.

Know what they said?  "There are a couple issues the doctor want to speak directly to you about.  Nothing to worry about, but would not like to do it over the phone?"

WTF?  Now I have been nervous all night about it....

Nice!  Let me know how it is.

I'm just happy I have to race before I can come home and buy a game on Sunday.  Plus, if I sit around for the rest of the day and play, I won't feel bad.

"Moscow in flames as nuclear warheads approach Washington DC... Film at 11."

Whatever it is, I hope all is well, and tell your doc to stop doing that because it screws up your blood pressure.

hmm.... but if you go in to the office, they can charge you for a visit and get the insurance money... over the phone... not so much.

Don't worry dude.  and I am not trying to be cynical or slam doctor's office... just pointing out a probability.

That's my wife's theory too...

If it's really nothing, I'm going to complain to the doctor about what the receptionist said over the phone.

She should say something like "every thing is fine, but we have a policy to not dicuss results over the phone" and leave it at that.  NOT what was said.

The WORST case (that I can think of) could be is my cholesteral is a little high.  It's always been on the high side of normal, but nothing any other doctor said to worry about...

Whatever.  I will find out at 2:00.

That's really annoying.  My doc always gives me results over the phone.  Once it was, "yes, this is abnormal.  We need you to come in tomorrow for an appointment and more blood work, but you don't have to worry".

The correct term is geek... I have an appreciation for "nerdy" things and I don't work at McDonalds or live with my mom... hence "geek"
