Love the shirt!  Thanks for doing this!
Now a stupid question... bottom says "BT supoport crew"... is that for the athletes or family & friends.
Will there be a shirt for each?  Not to make more work for you Laughing but I know my husband/family would love to share the time on the 7th with other BT family he runs into.

Thanks again!

Okay, the shirts, Jay (jccbulldog) has graciously (and I mean it, he's not even doing IMFL this year!) offered to take care of the ordering from the country and shipping of shirts.  With that help, I will take on the getting orders/addresses/money from all you IMFL peeps.  I still have to figure out how to do that, so don't start throwing out numbers. I will start, just like the IMAZ crew did, an IMFL T-shirt thread.

We should be able to do both the Athlete Shirt and BT Support Crew Shirt.  The athlete is same as support, just without "BT Support Crew" on it.  Last year there were both the regular t-shirt material and the dri-fit options availalbe. Costs are dependent upon # of shirts ordered, but should mirror last years (See above post from jccbulldog).

From talking to Jay, it sounds like most people went the pay pal route to pay for shirts last year, that will be my intent as well.  Checks mailed to me will work too, but I'd prefer that second to pay pal.  Once the orders are in and I have the money, I will cut Jay one check for the total amount of everyone's orders. Jay orders the shirts, shirts come in, Jay mails the shirts, and we all walk around in Panama City with our Orange T-shirts making us easy to spot, and our spectator crews can find fellow BT Support Members on Race Day.

Again, please DO NOT send me your orders yet, I will start a thread for that, and it'll include you needing to PM me your shipping address for my excel sheet I'll send to Jay.  Remember, cost depends upon #'s ordered, so when you commit to a #, you need to be prepared to pay for that number. Don't make me use my MP (=Military Police) skills to hunt you down!

Seems like orange is good thus far, so unless there are severe objections, we'll go with burnt/rust orange. I'm fairly fond of that color--maybe it's because I naturally wear it everyday!

For those that have raced before - is renting a car the best thing to do when flying into PNS? If so is it adviseable to reserve it ahead of time?

99 days.  Something about moving from 100 - 99 makes it seem so close.

99 days.... wow the clock doesn't stop for anything does it?  I am feeling pretty sore today.  My training program is not real formal.  I just put lots of miles in and tweak as needed depending on my weaknesses etc..  Definitely been neglecting the run training since that is what I am most comfortable with.  However, I realized I couldn't neglect it too much or I would pay on race day so I decided to start running to work to get bigger mileage in.  I start work at 7:30 am and get off at 7:30 am the next morning and have 48 hours off before I start again.  The route to work is 8-11 miles depending on which way I go.  The biggest difference in this running is that there are a lot of hills which I don't normally train on.  Ouch!  Other then soreness it is a nice way to get to work.  If only I didn't have to wake up so early.

I am done rambling.  Off for a swim.  Good luck to all on your training and happy Thursday.

That is almost exactly the amount I am doing, although I am about to increase that and throw in some open water swims.

I flew into PNS last year and rented a car. It's a pretty straight shot to the race site, although about 2 hours.

I reserved a car ahead of time - pretty inexpensive. I shipped my bike with tribiketransport so I only needed a small car.

I would advise booking it ahead of time. The less to worry about the better.

I get so exciting reading all of your posts. I'm still hoping that things will work out for me to come out and support you all this year and then sign up for IMFL 2010. If I do come out, I'll want a support shirt, but I have to agree with Catwoman - I'm an Aggie and don't own ANYTHING orange. That might be a hard thing to do. But, if it will help the BTers be seen, then so be it.

Keep up the great training everyone!

Thats probably right...look at my logs from last year.  This year I am doing a masters program and I am swimming a LOT more so don't look at what I am doign right now because it will freak you out.  I have a tri coach and he set my workouts for swimming last year.  You will need one long (3500-4000) swioma week as you get closer to race time but what you are doing now is fine I think....

I'm doing an open water swim on mondays about 2000 yards, then wed and friday are interval workouts between 2500-3000 yards.  total about 8000 per week.  My tri coach said the yards will increase soon for distance and the intervals will slow down.

Great job on the 10 miler.  Had a tough weekend myself.  78 miles on the bike yesterday and 13 miles running today.  Legs are pretty spent.  Have a easy week coming up.  YEAH.

Yikes under 3 digits - yipes! Had an 8 mile run yesterday, quick 3 mile run and 2500m swim today - next week is a high volume week - hope the weather cooperates - hate those 3+hour trainer rides!

Solid weekend: 15 mile run and 2500m swim yesterday, 90 mile ride today.  Feeling fairly stellar post everything! Putting away more in the bank.

I did, however, re-learn a lesson I should've paid heed to because I know better. Typically I swim in our indoor pool due to water temp (outdoor pools in Central TX can get 90+ degrees, and that's just no fun), availability, and cause it's a meter pool. It was closed this week, so I had to do my two late week swims in the outside, 50yd pool.  Thankfully we FINALLY FINALLY got some rain here and it drastically cooled down the outdoor pool.  I went late on Thursday, so no sunburn threat.  I went around 1200 yesterday.  I neglected sun block cause I just didn't think about it. I don't use it when I'm at my normal pool.  Let's just say that my back has a very clear outline of my swim suit...won't make that mistake again. This red-head knows better than to do that! Yell

Blew off an oly for a variety of reasons and did a 3 hour bike with 2 X 30' intervals and a 40 min run.  Got a late start and let's just say if was HOT!!!  More of a mental training day on the run today for sure.
