Happy Thursday (although it's almost over) - I'm heading out of town tomorrow to Chicago with some girlfriends, so if wine drinking counts, I will certainly reach my goal....

I did double up today on the workouts (well 1 and 3/4)  I'm tired now.  I'll also get some swimming in tomorrow before I head out.  I do have a 0% in my trainer rides, but promise to get on them next week.  Otherwise, I think I am ahead for the month.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend Cold Turkeys!

Hi Turkeys:

I'm sorry for being such a slacker but the truth is that I injured myself 2 weeks ago.  Not to go into too much detail but I messed my knee up thanks to some overuse issues - tendinitis and bursitis.  My PT told me then to rest and rest I have (the good weather has made it really hard).  I saw her again tonight and she said I could continue my training but at a greatly reduced rate.

So the question is - what do I do about my goals?  I'd like to scale them back to help motivate myself to keep going with my recovery.  Would everyone be cool with this - so late in the game?

Let me know what you want me to do.

Thanks,

DQ

Dee's rules are generally that you can reduce your goals proportionally to the time you've been injured and unable to train; e.g., if you missed 12 days you'd reduce your goals by 12/30%=40%

Swim last night - core workout this morning...  Jorge W2 Q2 this evening - it appears to be more difficult...

Also, got my rental adamo saddle in.  I will be putting it on before my drainer ride...

I hate to do this, but I need to withdraw from this challenge since I rolled my ancle on Wed trying to run.  The timing of this is horrible since I have a marathon scheduled in a week and a half.  Not sure if I will be able to run it.

Sorry to hear you've been injured also!!  I bet you can revise to something you can meet w/o causing more damage.

Please have the spreadsheet updated with your progress by Sunday morning. I'll give everyone the Current Team Standings by Sunday afternoon.

I'm helping Dee out this weekend and doing the team updates, which will happen Sunday afternoon.  If it's not in the spreadsheet, it won't count for your totals this week.

Please let me know if you have any questions, concerns, etc.

I got a short little run done today.  It's the first time I've run on consecutive days in a very long time!  I felt great!  I'm over half way to my goal!

Thanks to you all for your kind wishes- but I'm dropping out of the challenge.  After a little PT last night, I felt like I was on the mend last night after 2 weeks on the DL.  The lack of pain got my hopes up and I was really to jump back into the challege- but this morning my knee was killing me again.  Frustrated!

While I have decided to quit (I *@%#ing hate to quit), I promise to be back as soon as my knee heals.

Best of luck to you all!  I'll check in to see how you guys are doing!!!

Proud to be a cold turkey!

We have two people, Qua17 and tlnewman, who want to drop out due to injury. Can you take care of this or should I notify Dee?

Were they able to work out at all this month?

One option is to revise the goal:

30 days - days missed = days of participation
Original goal x days of participation / 30 = new goal

If they want to completely drop out, it would be better to PM Dee.  Hope that helps.
