Extreme Veteran 494 Morris County, NJ | Subject: RE: Women's May Challenge Thread Technical "Challenge" question: I am pretty wiped out after doing two half marathons on consecutive weekends. I'm not injured, but without a ton of miles on my legs I just feel fatigued. I am supplementing my road running with pool running this month. I am logging these workouts as "aqua jogging" and not standard runs. But, am I allowed to include them with my running tally for the challenge? Any thoughts? |

I am logging these workouts as "aqua jogging" and not standard runs. But, am I allowed to include them with my running tally for the challenge? Any thoughts? That's a good question. I would think you could either use it as a time goal or if you know your usual pace convert the aqua time into land miles. But the real question is should you be take more actual rest days in order to fully recover? We have a lot of training & racing left this season! |

He is 13 y/o and I guess they call this Soft Tissue Cancer and it is not a good thing. So far it is just in the knee area and has not spread so we are praying that they get it all and his recovery time is short with the required radiation treatments. I just shake my head at the thought of that for a 13 y/o having to endure that. His name is Cory and if you could pray for him as well I would greatly appreciate it. Wow - a new type of cancer I haven't heard about and at 13 y/o. Prayers being sent for Cory and for your family. Stacie I heard about a new type of cancer yesterday that I hadn't heard of before. Lymphoplasmacytic lymphoma or Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia. It represents about 1.5% of all non-Hodgkins lymphomas so its pretty rare. My dad was diagnosed with it and starts chemo Monday. Please remember him (his name is Dave) as you continue to pray for Cory. Oh my goodness! Positive thoughts to everyone! We should do a Relay for Life inspired challenge in July. |

Don't see any reason I shouldn't be able to hit 100% this month. Sending out prayers for Dad Dave and Friend Cory. Stacie - glad everything is starting to look up for you guys. I'm next door in Arkansas, so we had out bout with the tornadoes last week. I think we have more on tap for this afternoon and tomorrow. With that being said, I'm pretty sure my long ride will be rained out tomorrow. Booo! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Emmanem - good luck on your race |

I have been toying with an idea - let me know if you think there would be any interest! I am riding 1700 miles from June 4th - July 3rd. I was thinking to see if there would be any teams of say 6 that would like to try and challenge that mileage and if they do I would put $20 a team towards the LAF or another Cancer Research and if they don't the team puts in $20 to the same foundation. What do you think???? On second thought, who cares if I can't get it done--it's for a great cause. I'm in. Edited by jtrezza 2010-05-14 1:42 PM |
