Happy Friday/Weekend, everyone.

I've had a bout of exhaustion and just plain not feeling up to par all week...guess 70.3 can take a little out of a person.

Had an ignorant coworker ask me today "You're not going to do any more of these, are you?". Ummm...yeah, I am. Not surprising, she's probably 80+ pounds overweight. I'm sorry, just because it's hard or takes awhile to recover doesn't mean I'm not going back out and doing it again...100 more times. Grrr.  /rant

Hoping to be better by the end of this weekend. I am itching to get back in the training routine. Plus, we have entered a healthy lifestyle challenge at school and the contest runs for about 5 more weeks. I'd like to lose 10 pounds and get down to an optimal racing weight. Good news is  that we get points for every 30 minutes of exercise...and our "team" had 17 hours of excercise alone from doing the triathlons last weekend (our 3rd teammate in this challenge is a newbie triathlete). Hopefully those points will blow everyone out of the water.

Speaking of water...I have surpassed 101,000 yards of swimming this year, which is about 3,000 more than I did all of last year. Here are my April (taper) numbers (dang...should have gone out for a .04 mile run tonight)...

April's totals:
Bike:9h 56m 44s  - 138.69 Mi
Run:10h 30m 26s  - 49.96 Mi
Swim:5h 28m 08s  - 18537 Yd

March's totals:
Bike:13h 02m 24s  - 175.58 Mi
Run:12h 00m 14s  - 61.46 Mi
Swim:7h 58m 06s  - 26550 Yd

Hey MG Peeps. I've been away for a while and apologize for not checking in. April was a crazy month, starting with apocalyptical flooding, taking a short term consulting gig in the middle and ending with me finally landing a full time position. WhooHooo!

All of the activity took it's toll on my training and killed my shot at a half mary for tomorrow but there will be more races.

After being jobless since Jan. I now need to figure out a new schedule and how to work it around family/job/training.

Belated congrats to Eric and Betsy! Belated congrats to all you racers, very impressive!

I'll try to stay up on posting!

KeriKadi - 2010-04-30 5:30 PM I was just coming her to post the same thing Kim, how are you feeling BTW.

Verdict is still out for today.  I went to the dr's yesterday and they gave me some medicine for the nausea that works not at all.  Blah.  I am working on keeping down breakfast right now.  I'm hopeful but not sure yet.  The dr said symptoms are typically 5-7 days so I should be better soon at least

In the true spirit of BT.... there are several issues with the pic.

- We need to be able to see the drive train.
-Your in the wrong gear up front
-Cranks are in the wrong position
-it HAS to be in front of a garage door
-And of course... your seat is too high!

Even with all the pic flaws.... Congrats, you deserve it.

As far a name? What about Kendra? You'll have your Ken and Kendra. Lots of fun jokes. Where's Keri? Well it's not hump day so she must be on "Kendra".

Nicole feel free to chime in!

A little behind for sure.

April was pretty decent and about the same as March.  Time to kick it in high gear for sure.  More bike and more swim on tap for May.  I think the run volume is close to where I want it for a Sprint Triathlon year (with an outside shot at Olympic in the fall).

April's totals:
Bike:7h 53m 53s  - 147.28 Mi
Run:12h 24m 51s  - 84.01 Mi
Swim:5h 30m  - 7450 Yd
Strength:10m

April Totals:

April's totals:
Bike:14h 29m 13s  - 281.47 Mi
Run:11h 41m 35s  - 77.54 Mi
Swim:3h 52m 38s  - 11312 Yd

My main concern is another HIM in the fall, but I plan on doing a few Sprints/Olympics in the summer. This summer I would really like to concentrate on my run, and work on improving my endurance on the bike. I would like to have a 100 mile month running, and 400 mile month bike this summer.

Hey everyone, sorry for the long absence but back in town now and ready to get back to training! Trip was amazing, too many things to list but Betsy put a bunch of details & pics in her TL.  For anyone lucky enough to make the trip to HI, highly recommend staying in Kauai it is by far my favorite island.

I haven't read through the entire thread but saw we had some great races. Congrats on your first HIMs Nikki, Tiff, Justine. I'm sticking with Justine until you break 5:00!

Betsy & I have a race in 19 days, it's not going to be pretty! I'm more looking forward to the beer drinking on the river after the race but I'm sure the race will be fun too

I'm not even posting my April totals.

My swimming certainly ramped up last month, but nothing over the top.  Maybe I can get some advice from the group....I found a 1.2 mile OWS event on 5/29 (4 weeks out).  Based on the swim volume I put last month (~16k yds) and the 4 weeks ahead (estimate 20-25k yds), is this doable for me?  There's also a 2 mile OWS on 6/19 (7 weeks out)....same question, doable or not so much?
