Oh super cuteness overload... For some reason I always think cats and weasels would talk with a French accent - no, I have no idea why, I just do.

Wee widdle weasels! I just want to hug them and squeeze them...until one bites my nose off. Tongue out

And skunks. Skunks always have a French accent.

Of course they do - they ALL talk like Pepe Le Pew, don't they?  Vere aaah you goink baybeeee?  Cool

OK, at the risk of posting too many pics of little tiny cute things, I almost squashed this guy on my run yesterday--

What accent to tiny little snappys have?

So glad he didn't get squashed - he's too cute to get squashed!

I always think of snapping turtles as being grumpy - like Grumpy Old Men kind of Grumpy... don't you come over here sonny boy, I'll bite yer finger clean off!

Had a good time. Took E swimming a bunch - she's a total water bug! She was putting her face under by herself and swimming from me to my mom.  We had to take her out because she was getting cold and she screamed.  Guess I'm going to have to spend a lot of time at the pool with her this summer.

Still on the hunt for a good tri suit.  There were a bunch of responses in my Athena clothing thread while I was gone, so I'll sort through and try to order stuff today.

Welcome back Jen!  Sounds like E is going to be a swimmer in no time.

One thing I will tell you with regards to the tri suit is to stay away from TYR - I can't BELIEVE how small their items are cut, but I didn't have a choice but to buy one a couple of weeks ago as I had forgotten to pack a tri top *smacks forehead*.

I really like the pearl izumi shorts I've got because they've got a fairly high waist which takes away the muffin top look (I'll see if I can find a link to them) - but I really don't have a top that I really like yet, so I'm absolutely NO help there.

TYR is terrible!!  I have a few recommendations for PI, especially the 8" shorts.  I did get a recommendation for their select tri jersey (rather than the tank) being a bit longer.  Plus, it comes in cute colors and I can get it from REI, so i can return if necessary.

Buying clothes right now is demoralizing.  It always makes me want to come home and cry.

Go for the cute colours!  Doe they have the shorts at REI too so if you're not happy with how they fit you can return those too?

I hate going shopping unless I absolutely have to... unless it's for shoes - shoes don't care what size you are and you can always find cute ones.

Thank you for sharing with us.

Sabai (one of them) called me when he got here, he'd changed his number ... and he had terrible news, our friend Keith had killed himself just that couple of weeks ago.

I'm shattered.

Good thoughts for Sarah's dogs.

Thank you for sharing Tammy's story with us.

As always, you, your friends and your family remain in our thoughts.

Yanti--your pu$$ies are gorgeous!  Good lookin cats in Bali

Good luck today Salty! (Big Salty, not Little ^ Salty.)

My contribution to post the cute (from kids'/husband's camp yesterday):

Teeny tiny spotty froggies!!! Kate, what are those?

Speaking of which ... where IS Froggy?

OK, it may just be a bad pic (and shows you how much I know--nada--because I thought they were frogs too), but Zac (my husband) who is a supreme nature dork (and I say that with nothing but respect), told me (via text), when I asked him what kind of frogs they were, " 'merican toads." Fachmie.  <<< Love that.

Pssst, discovered that if you string a bunch of real swear words together, they get through the censors.  But I'm going to be a good girl.  Sort of.

And now I'll stop with all the parenthetical BS.  I might even stop starting my sentences with conjunctions (little gift to you all here). I must be driving the English teachers batty

Agreed, American Toads---the thing is, all toads are frogs, but not all frogs are toads--its an old saying that is very true. Toads are frogs that start out the same way, (water bound eggs, tadpoles, etc), but once they become land bound, toads will seek out dry-er climates (i.e. land based homes, not ponds--damp, but not wet), while frogs will tend to stay very close to water.

Super-cute pic!

My favorite toad species: The Spadefoot toad!

though they can look very suspicious...little known fact, Spadefoot Toads smell like peanut butter. No, I am not kidding. Smile

The spadefoot toad reminds me of the Hypnotoad on Futurama.  But it's still cute, and those tiny ones are adorable!

{{{giant hugs}}} for Yanti.  Glad to hear you have a large influx of piglets to help keep your thoughts and spirits buoyed and to offer a little distraction.  Wow, you sure have seen and been through a lot in your lifetime, and I'm sure what we've heard is only a droplet in the ocean.  Keep hanging in there, girl, you are so strong, positive, and good-hearted, and those traits will bode you well.

Janyne--I have heard so many stories about RAGBRAI and how great it is.  I don't know what it says about my personality, but though I would LOVE to ride across Iowa for a week, the thought of doing it with all those people sounds wretched.

If a Manatee group decides they want to do RAGBRAI though, I will definitely come out for a day or two, and you all are welcome at my home :)

TJ beat me to the WTF thing, but I have to admit that it took me 3 tried to type out "Wednesday, Thursday, Friday" and then bold the first letters.

Pretty sure a spoon would be too much for me to handle today too, I'm thankful that so far my day has only had finger food and mugs/cups to deal with otherwise I'd be screwed.

Yanti - I am speechless (that never happens with me).  Hang in there, things will definitely get better.  If you ever want (or need) someone  to chat with, I'm always down for that (I'm really curious about your accent).  We can do a Google Hangout!

Also thought I would tell you that I may be the only person here that thinks your cats are ugly.  Their ears are HUGE!  Maybe they will grow into those things, but if not... poor kitties.  Just so you know, I'm a cat person, and I own cat and my cat is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy cuter than those big eared things.  Tongue out

Are any of you Manatees interested in doing a Manatee "hangout" on Google? - I think you can have up to 10 people at a time in a Google Hangout... (it's like skype, only better).  Would be kind of cool I think.

Switch:  Those weasels and that snapping turtle are awesome - where do you live?
