Hey gang, RR is up for the sprint.  They still haven't posted times from swim races from the day before (they didn't use a timing chip service and had them in Excel).  I will post the swim RR up when I get the times.

I can say it was a full weekend!  I am tired.  I think I am going to hit a recovery ride tomorrow in Z1 or Z2.  7 days to the next tri!  14 days and counting John!

ugh!

Just a step on the way to IMFL brother...  Gotta do it!  I was thinking we could squeeze in a nice transition run afterwards...

Andy: way to go. sounds like a great race.

Trevor. don't convert for our family below the border....just let them think us Canadians are really really fast  . After all we have to be fast to get to the next awesome cold Canadian beer and back bacon with maple sugar.

I had a good ride today with very little back pain. Ab and core workouts seem to be working already. After the ride I had a shower (at my wife's request) then a pedicure and after that shopping. My first pedicure ever and it was nice.  Really big comfortable chairs with massage. If I had known that I would have gone much earlier. I almost fell asleep. The bath tub they gave was very small though I could only get my feet in they seemed to get excited when I disrobed.

I saw a fast Canadian today on NBC - they televised the Hy-Vee ITU race - it was exciting - 6 in the final sprint to the finish -and as always, some dove for the line and still got beat...  A Canadian won, I don't remember his name though...

Andy--Congrats on the result this weekend!!  You are a machine--so many races on the calendar.  I love it!

Rob--glad you are back in action.  I think I need to hit the core some more this weekend.  Steve gave me this workout which is a killer--it is the abripper if you want to try it  www.riversideholding.com/abs.

Kim--STRETCH those calves!

I am pooped after a great weekend.  I will be staying at our house in Minocqua through next Monday, but the man is leaving Tuesday morning so with no one to play with, I will be settling down and working more.  Boo!

Rob, I can't remember do you have  a tri bike or road bike?  Where are/were you having back pains.  I had to adjust my fit a bit higher than I would like due to some lower back problems.

Also, LOL...

Just got back from the lake and managed to get a couple good workouts in.  Had a good time though which is the main thing.  I got caught up on most of the posts...looks like everone had a good weekend.  Got to get serious this week and get on it.

Good morning everyone. I am back at work after a week off. My last 3 workouts have all felt great. I hope I am turning a corner or leveling up or whatever. I have a reasonable week planned with a small taper at the end before my tri on saturday. After that its one week on my own and then I begin my 12 week olympic training program. I think I will start the strength training program early, e.g., next week to get over the soreness as fast as possible.

I am hoping a more formal program (as opposed to none) will help me.

Congrats to everyone this past weekend. Great accomplishments!

Hey guys!  I'm behind again - pretty much stayed away from the computer over the weekend.  I've skimmed through a little bit though - welcome to Sam!

I did a 10k on July 4th, in the rain no less.  I finished it in 1:13:25 - slow for a lot of you but actually a pretty good time for me, only about a minute off my 10k PR.  But considering that I hadn't run more than about 3 miles at a time for the last 4 weeks or so, my only goal was to finish.  So really happy with the results.

Oh, and I bought a new bike on FridaySmile.  Nothing fancy - it's a Giant Defy 3.  I'd been to the LBS a couple of times looking at that one and a Specialized Allez, test rode both of them and the Giant was more comfortable.  Since they had one in stock and I wasn't making any upgrades, they made some adjustments for me and I was able to bring it home with me.  Unfortunately it rained pretty much all weekend so I haven't had a chance to take it out yet, but hoping to get out tonight!

You have to post some pictures of your new toy...  Great job on the 10k.  We all have different abilities, so while it may be slow for some, it was much further than I can run - hats off to you!  BTW, where do you live in the big MO?

Wow - what a weekend.  Another great showing for the SWBKRUN group, some of you twice!!

I could use a day off to recover from this weekend.  My totals for the weekend:  BBQs: 3, Birthday parties: 2, Hours in the Sun: way too many, Beers: At times it felt like too many, others not enough, Workouts: 1

I'll be late to work this month thanks to le Tour.

is this a trick question?  lol.  don't think i have a favorite.  American, dogfish head is great.  Rest of world, any sam smith or fuller's london pride.  just had a guinness 250, good stuff.

funny story, dang andy i've been so good today at work, why did you have to get me going.  jarrett and i went to ireland on vactation last year for a few weeks.  the oddest thing about the trip was all the locals drank coors light and mgd.  all this tremendous beer and this is what they drank.  their excuse was it was spring and the local beer was to heavy.  i didn't have a problem with it.

ok so what about you andy and the rest of you.  whats your favorite beer?

Tev / Rob.  In 97 I was on a ship that lost its engine and had to get towed into Sydney, NS.  Since it was a government vessel we were'nt allowed to have beer onboard. (riiiight)   some smart canadian showed up with a truck full of moosehead and reminded us how cold the water was.  he sold all his beer in a short time. all the way down the dock were a bunch of lines hanging in the water with mossehead on the other end.
