Got a bonus swim today. Had an extra 20 minutes at the Y while I waited for the teenagers. This means I only have to swim 1000 yds on Friday before I go SKIING! Wahoo! I'm at 43%; still ahead of the month meter!

Alright, some great swimming going on here, but there are an awful lot of quiet people out there. Where are you and how are you all doing?

Well said. We should be at least at 41% today. Following people are below. So lets get then inspired.

 kns57, AlexB, barbercl, Donto, gracetheterp, Grimmco, kpb421, LeCrac, madkat, medic020, ShawnC13, stilltr-ing, vball03umd, wurkit_gurl, jacsua

It appears the list is growing, and our standing may fall down. Let's get those gills wet, and get in some swimming folks.

Swimmers are the happiest people on earth, we see a lot more than what other people can't see under water. What a beautiful world out there.

PS: If everyone promises to get their numbers up and above and stay there, I will trow myself under the ocean and go for 100K. Only if everyone get above mileage  and stay there!!

I've got to be crazy. Hooyahhh!

Heh... I'm at 3/12, but I'm heading to the pool shortly.  I plan to swim at least 4 times this week, and maybe even 5, which will get me past 50%.

I'm dreading today because it's kicking... I hate kicking...

I look like a slacker!  No worries -- I'm planning on swimming tomorrow and either Thursday or Friday.

This is going to be a lighter week for me since I have a volleyball tournament on Saturday and need to have fresh arms.  I should be at 58.75% by Friday night though

OK, I didn't go to the pool this morning.  I was dreading doing the kicking, and decided to buy a set of fins.  So, that's what I did this morning.  I also bought a new swim suit.

I'm off to have lunch with a friend, but I'm taking my swim stuff with me, so I can go directly to the pool afterwards.    I promise!

edited to add: Ack - hope it's not bad luck to be the first post on page 13!

I just increased my goal from 4 to 6 hours for the month, which dropped my percentage to 36%. Don't worry though I'll be back up this week! Now that I'm back in the pool, I remember how much I actually like it . Go team swimming rocks!

colesdad - 2008-02-12 8:07 AM Got in 1250M last night which brings me up to 44% of my goal. Hope to swim the same amount tonight weather permitting. I must be getting a littl e better at this swimming thing as that's the most I've ever gone in one session and no shoulder pain!

Good job! And yay for the shoulders!

Sorry team - no swim for me today - just got home from a 12 hour workday on 5 hours of sleep. I missed my dinner plans & my spinning class - swimming just doesn't seem possible at this point. So, I guess I'll just have to make up for it tomorrow!

On a separate note, I just signed up for a club triathlon this weekend! Quite excited about that! Should be good to "get my feet wet" in a short race before I do the HIM swim relay in April.

Unfortunately no swimming for me yesterday or today. I had ice stormus interruptus yesterday. Was debating going out anyway, went to walk the dog at about 7:30 or so I think and I didn't actually touch a single one of my 4 steps. Ouch! Luckily nothing too serious other than general soreness today. Will be taking the day off from everything today though so I don't aggravate anything. I promise I'll swim on Thursday and have set aside Mon - Thurs as swim days next week. I may even reach my goal by then.

Swimming tonight after work again. And then probably on Friday morning. I'm out of town again this weekend, with no access to a pool (and won't be back until very late on Sunday).

Looks like the rocks are floating!  Nice work swim people.

Got in another 3000yds with a swimplan.com workout this morning.  Whew.  Butt kicker, but it felt great.  I'll get it in the spreadsheet when I go home for lunch.  For some reason the public google spreadsheets are blocked at work.  If they ever block bt.com I'm quitting (not really).

Meeting today, so work will interfere with bt time.  Bummer.

Have a good one, everybody.

Another 1300 in the books for me today, right on track with 45% completed so far.

I'd like to share my Son's glory with you all. This past Sat was the FL state YMCA swim championships and my son did awesome. It was his 1st big meet and first time swimming 50yard distance in a meet. Since he was unseeded he went in the 1st or 2nd heats and was able gain a lot of confidence by winning his heats! Here he is getting set for the start of the IM. Overall for the 8 & under AG he was 7/23 for the 25 yd Backstroke, 11/24 for the 50 yd Free, 5/13 for the 50 yd Breast and 6/14 for the 100yd IM. He's given me extra motivation to get my arse to the pool!
