QueenZipp - 2008-11-10 5:31 PM grade 2 rectus femoris tear...basically strained the hip flexors. Yeah, I already knew that. Iontopheresis, PT, massage therapy, I can race Sat. but then no running x 2 weeks (boo hiss) and I have to go back to strength training.

Ooh race Saturday.  Goody goody

Hopefully after you run your heart out this weekend the treatment plan will get you on the road to recovery!

I've got a bike ride on tap for today. I may have actually found a riding partner for during the week, during the day. That would be awesome.

My plans are a 15-20 mile bike ride and then a 4-5 mile run. No snow here today, 35 F and raining.... snow might be better for the run, but not for the bike. I will probably end up indoors for both. H8 the no daylight thing. They need to move clocks the othe way so we get an extra hour of daylight after work.

Okay, got 12 miles in on the bike today. It was awesome to be riding outdoors with a riding partner. Looks like it might work out for us to hook up about every other week. So, I'm 3 for 3 this week. Going for that second 6 so that I don't have to worry too hard when on vacation at the end of the month about getting in a full 30+ each day.

I'm facing one of those really lovely long work days.  Most likely I'll be pulling at least 12 hours.  Hoping to hop on the trainer after that but we'll have to see how the fatigue factor is affecting me.  Everyone have a great training day!

Good morning team!!!!  The plan was: if I wake up before 6am, I'll do the 6am spinning class.... and of course this morning was the only morning for the past week that I didn't wake up before 6am. Well, then I will take the class tonight and do some running afterwards.

hey all
so far my week is on track. BUT dh off today and tomorrow, and that always makes it more difficult. we always get to doing something else, and the workouts take back burner. BUT my hope/plan for today is to do some yoga and strength stuff this morning while he's out goofing around. then i'll try to catch a run when he gets back. otherwise i'll catch that run tomorrow. i wish i was biking. i wish i was swimming. i wish i had a gym membership. i wish there was a gym within 30 miles of here. go truckers go. (ooh that made me think of that cw mccall song.....um.....convoy. "let them truckers roll 10-4" LOL)

ah, crap!! that was my 2000th post! and i FORGOT! i was so going to post something at least INTERESTING and i TOTALLY spaced it out. ok. 3000th post for SURE is going to be great!! LOL

AND i was going to post on here two weird things that happened this week. #1 i told my dh (who's always been supportive of the tri thing, but NOT much else if you know what i mean. he sometimes mocks me about stuff) that i was starting to seriously consider doing a marathon in 2009. i've always known i would DO one, it was always just "later" but now i'm kind of getting serious about picking one out and actually training for it. so the surprising and weird thing about that is that dh was all over it. he always surprises me. LOL when i expect him to be kind of a jerk, he's super supportive and sweet, and when i expect him to be supportive he says something stupid like (i'm not joking he said this last season) "are you SURE they're not going to pull you out of the race?" so anyway, the weird thing #1 was that he was supportive. really supportive. and it was awesome.
weird thing #2 was that when i DID talk to him about it. he said, "what's stopping you from doing an ironman in 09?" WTH!?!? i NEVER thought he would suggest such a thing!! anyway, the thing that's stopping me from doing IM in 09 is my kids. i think that the training required to do an IM is too much to try to handle when i have small kids. i think when they're older i'll TOTALLy do one. BUT anyway, then after i told DH that he said, well definately a half IM this year then right? ok. you guys don't know my dh, so this doesnt seem totally weird, but in my life, this is the equivelant of say someone proving that there's no such thing as GRAVITY!! LOL

anyway, it was huge for me. so i think in about feb i'll pick one out and start training of a half!! YAY!! i'm excited about it!!

Isn't it great, that somebody that you know for so long can still  surprise you, especially if it's such a positive surprise. It's great that he is supportive, because you will definitely need that support from him during training and nobody can do it alone.... You might wanna let him sign a paper now, that he agreed to your plans.... Just in case!

LOL exactly!!! a contract would be smart! LOL then i can always get it out and wave it in his face later.

actually, at my last race, he really really helped. he was the one that got me out the door every day for training. and encouraged me on the days when i would have rathered to stay in and lay on the couch. AND it was my best race with my best time ever. so when he WANTS to be supportive he's REALLY good at it. LOL (i still think the contract is a good idea though)

It's not too late!

So far my BF is very supportive, mainly because I started running... He is running since high-school or so. He is just concerned sometimes that I am overdoing it, which is good to hear every now and then, because I tend to extremes.
