Baby snow leopards are the cutest things ever. All paws and tail.

I volunteered at the zoo in Milwaukee in high school doing summer camp things, which meant I got to get into the zoo early so I would see animals that wouldn't come out during the day.  The two summers I was there, the snow leopard had three babies each year.  I would come in a half an hour early just to watch them play.

Hey, our current Curator of Bird and Reptiles used to work at Milwaukee Co Zoo.

Very cool.  Ask him if he ever did the raptor show with the hawks and falcons.  I loved that.

Milwaukee Co Zoo is a really neat zoo.  I blame them for why I have high standards in zoos.
Never ever come to Columbus then... There is definately a reason why they are number 1 in the nation now. Plus they area approved a huge bond for the zoo for expansion. The thing is massive now... just wait a year or two... It is gonna be a multi-day excursion to see everything

Nice.  I have friends in Columbus.  Gives me a good excuse to go visit.

They also now own a water park and golf course too. I think they are trying to build a hotel as well... Should be interesting to see what happens.

Morning TAN.

I get to spend all day in the Operations Center monitoring all of the flying we're going to do today (or, more likely, monitoring the weather that's going to keep us from doing all of the flying we have planned today).  Good times.

And, I have to try and keep myself motivated to get up at 0200 tomorrow morning to go do my one hour block in the 24 hour POW/MIA vigil run that's going on here today/tomorrow.  There's a strong possibility that it's going to be pouring rain during my time block.  More good times.

7 days until my 10 year class reunion at the Air Force Academy, and 10 days until my first Olympic tri!

My crotch still hurts.  Those saddle sores feel much worse with the stubble coming through, too.  *walking slightly bowlegged*

Our group here flies CV-22 Ospreys, HH-60s, UH-1Ns, and three different kinds of C-130 (HC-130P, MC-130P, and MC-130H).

I am a CV-22 guy by trade.

My first base/assignment was the academy.  Didn't know how well I had it till I PCS'd to Wash DC.

It's definitely a pretty place to live, and a way better assignment than many others you could get.

2goggs,

Some restaurants while you are in OKC.

Rococo's Win Bar and Restaurant.  Chef and Owner used to work at Boston's out East.  The place is pretty good.

Pearl's Oyster Bar.  Cajun cookin'.  Also pretty good and has been around for as long as I can remember.

VZD's.  Beer.  Burgers.  Goodness.  Oh, and many times they have bands playing too.  Flaming Lips used to play there a ton.

Those are 3 places I try to hit anytime I'm in town.

Good luck this weekend, my friend.  Tell wavedogg I said hey.

That is one of the neatest aircraft around!

Q 1). If the CV-22 looses power to one of the engines, doesn't the other engine supply power to both?

Q 2). Does one of the C-130's in that roster have the nick name "SPOOKY"?

I have some video of one of those laying down suppressive fire in a circular pattern. Looks pretty dangerous, especially if your the enemy!

I certainly enjoy flying it!  I flew MH-53s for several years prior to transitioning to the Osprey, and the CV-22 is much more fun as a pilot.  However, I do sometimes miss flying a "pure" helicopter.

To answer your questions:

1 - Yes, one engine will power both rotors, but at a significantly reduced power setting.

2 - The AC-130H carries the "Spooky" name (the AC-130U is the "Spectre").  We don't have any of those here.
