Sorry guys been a crazy weekend since Fri and haven't had a chance for a run since Thurs. Tomorrow morning hopefully getting in 2.75 early before I have to take off for Bridgeport, then Tues I am going to kick my arse for it being such a bad training weekend (not by choice but because of work)

Losta - Do you think I should revise my goal?  I just read on the Original Challenge thread that if you are sick or injured your can revise it.  I have missed 7 days  in October do to my flu and sinus infection.  I am going to do my best to get my mileage in but I don't want to team to suffer b/c I got sick.  Let me know you thoughts.  PS - If you think I should, feel free to make the adjustment.

Yes, you can revise your goal. Here's how:

Original goal - 64 miles.

64 x (24 days that you could participate) / 31 = 49.5 miles

So your revised goal is:
49.5 miles

You can go ahead and update the spreadsheet.... I've just updated the spreadsheet for you, so it shows a goal of 49.5 miles.

Glad you're feeling better now!

Sorry guys since mine is by session and not time/miles so I can't pull ahead, but I am ahead of the month though last time I checked.

I did an hour today at 5mph. Might sound slllllllow to most people but I've been doing most of my long 60+ min runs at 4.5mph or so, so an hour at that speed is good for me.

Sent you an inspire as well, but great training. No matter the mileage you got a great hour run in.

Fun week ahead for me.  we had a "Pie Festival" this Saturday as a community fundraiser.  I told my folks this morning that they all need a "PERM" a Pie Eaten Recovery Moment.  So I organized a 30 min run/walk group each morning this week.    I will drop in a couple of training sessions and a long run to flesh things out.   So will be ahead for the week.

Pie Festival!! THAT sounds like fun!!!

Got a quick 3.5 in this morning - I was going to do a longer run today, but I have TWO kids home sick this morning. Looks like the same (or very similar) bug as my youngest had last week. Now all the kids have had it... what are the odds I'll get away without getting it myself???

What's up folks?
I just got back from my sister's surprise 40th birthday party weekend. I managed to get a run session in, thanks to a local fall festival. I plan to work late tonight and hopefully get in a run later. I'm at 50% of goal now, so hope I can build on that good stuff this week. The challenge is going to be balancing work and the challenge, considering I've got at least three days worth of big meetings and things.
Thanks for the inspires!
Riley

Hi everyone,

I am finally back home for a few days and I need to use the time to post. I also updated the spreadsheet and as I walked 18K on the day my husband did his Ironman I am way ahead of goal. Will see if I can get close to the 50K with just the runs and then I take the walks out if I need to.

I still have to be careful with my back and I finally had my long awaited doctor's appointment today and I got an MRI and some X-Rays and now I am waiting for the results. Hopefully it is nothing major and something that can be fixed with "the magic wand" lol

It seems you are all doing great

Keep running Pumpkins

3 more miles in the books for me today - 40ish% of goal.  Loving that I'm actually motivated to get out the door and run these days.

That pie festival sounds excellent - and what a great idea to follow it up with some community run/walks.  Mmmm...pie....

If I eat some pumpkin pie this month does that make me a cannibal?  It might be worth it.

Bah got sick on Friday and was pretty out of it all weekend, never left the house until Monday/today.  Sucks that I missed a 13 mile run on Saturday 2 weeks before a race.   I am not sure I will make my milage without that, we will see.  Also our internet was down all weekend, so pretty much just slept and watched some football.  Oh well, back at it today with a noon run, we see how that goes.

Oh grats on the 119 mile bike, that will pay off come IM time.

It felt soo good to have IM fitnesss, now a 1 miles swim is long again.

Alrighty a slowish Z1-Z2 run at lunch, but it counts for 8 miles.  I seem to be pretty much better after that cold.  Must have been one of those 48-72 hour ones.  Although my kids have had it for weeks.  Anyway keep the miles coming. .... off to a meeting now.

Short run today with walk following run.

My legs felt a bit sluggish with my two cross races this weekend.

I hope to run 5x this week.

My kids have all had a similar 48 - 72 hour bug - really knocked 'em flat for a day or two. So far I've managed to avoid it, but time will tell..... Glad you're feeling better!
