KOM - 2010-02-10 4:07 PM wow! Where'd everybody go?

Work closed early today although the storm is a bit of a bust here on the coast. Wind, sleet, snow.....but only on and off.  We will see what the night brings. Got a short run in....I was soaking wet and cut it a little short though.  Settled in with a hot chocolate and a roaring fire.  SWeet!

I was busy pouting about the snow.  It's been going strong all day.  I am tired of it and a grump about it.  But, nothing can be done, right?  I wonder if the kids will have school tomorrow?  I'm sure at least a delay.

No school tomorrow. The kids will be home all day. With you. Locked in the house, all together.....

Well OK, you can bundle them up and toss them outside to play for awhile....

I tried that today, they only lasted 45 minutes.  What a boring day.  Anyone want to come and shovel my long driveway?

My daughter has internship at the library tomorrow and I have a lot to do. Hoping Planning on her going! I do have a couple of meetings that might be postponed or canceled though...will have to wait and see what the morning brings.  Since they should have had school today no one is deciding about tomorrow too early.  'Course it has been snowing harder here since sundown than it did all day....Skyped with my daughter in Mexico- sunny and 80.  That girl is a lot smarter than I ever was....nice way to spend a semester!

So, to break me out of the winter blahs... I'm thinking of doing a little "tri" tomorrow. Just because. A swim in the am before work. Run at lunch. Bike on the trainer when I get home. Although the kids may disagree with me, I admit, I am lucky to have school OPEN tomorrow!

Anyone care to join me?

Don't break out the taser...I got a trainer ride in.  It isn't my love goal, but hopefully it will be what I needed to get me out of my slump.  Crazy how one week you can feel like you are really breaking through with the training and the next week...blah!

We have a 2 hour delay here this morning.  Not bad.  I'll be glad to send my cherubs off to school today.  They were just crazy yesterday.

My meeting has been canceled so my plans are to stay home and dig out.  We didn't get as much snow as they were prediciting (thank goodness) but it still needs shoveled.  So, I'll do that during the kids delay and then run a few miles later today.  Maybe I'll hit the drainer and make it a brick.  We'll see how much energy/motivation I have.

Way too quiet in here today.  I got a 4 mile run done this morning.  I am thinking about a nap before the kids come home.

Went to my follow-up visit this morning after my eye surgery yesterday.  Doc said "nothing that will jiggle my head around but I could do the eliptical."  Can I substitute eliptical time for running time for my love goal?  I go back in next week for another follow-up and may be able to start running then.

1750 yd swim done. 3 mile run done. I just have to decide on what mileage and what TV show will finish up my "sprint tri in a day"!

Hello all... I'm baaaaaaaaack!  I'm ready to get back to some training.  I did 2 hours of shoveling snow today and felt fine, so tomorrow I'm hitting the treadmill.  Going to try for 5 miles.  Time to get back on track!!!

2800 yd swim yesterday (17 yd pool...eh).  No knee problems while swimming.  Had to concentrate and make sure I was pushing off with only my right leg against the wall.

30 min EASY spin this morning.  Low RPMs, low resistance.  No pain in the knee, just a little 'burning.'  I can walk up and down stairs now.

But it's FRIDAY!  There's got to be some motivation in that.  We'll take whatever consolation we can get here in the frozen tundra.

Wasn't it great to see the sun yesterday in the northern midwest?
