I've never checked in my bike the night before.  For those of you that have, do you bring a lock even though they have security?

I've done this for a couple races (including the old SOR) and have never used a lock, never had a problem either

HFP used to to hire off duty police/security to watch the parking lot all night.  i've seen one in a car and one walking the lot and they rotate/keep each other company all night.

i'm sure they'll have something similar.

Hey Ben, thanks for organizing this.  I'm going to have young kids in tow, so I think we're going to try and stay flexible with timing, but we might try to come by the same restaurant.  Are you going to be at the one on Rapids?

For veterans of this race who have had families with young kids (4, 8, 11) in attendance, any good familiy activities during the race?  Hang out at the beach?  Good restaurants for lunch nearby?  Other stuff?

There is a large playground near the transiitiion area called Kid's cove, it has play stuff for all ages. The beach is nice.  Bring chalk and they can mark the heck out the run course to write messages to you. Downtown racine is an option to kill time, the restaurant called the chancery which is connected to the hotel on the lake is family friendly.

The Racine Zoo is nice place to go.

does anyone know in the SW Wisconsin area where you can rent race wheels? I was going to go through Raceay Wheels but I couldn't get my forms in on time so know I am stuck with my training wheels unless I can find an alternate source.

Here's a "locals" scouting report for parking, in previous years side street parking wasn't that bad in my opinion, but then again your looking at more triathletes in the race then before. Not sure what will be blocked off on race day in terms of the side streets.

has event parking ever been available at #1, 2, 5, 6, 7, or 8?

I have always street parked or parked in #9.

Can I change my shirt in transition after the bike and not get hit with a "nudity" call (indecent exposure maybe). I want to rock my Donkey Head tech shirt on the run , just not the for the swim & bike.

Thought I read something that describe something more harsh that "not permitted"

After the swim, you will be directed through the timing chutes to the swim to bike transition. Public

nudity is not permitted.

I am unaware of any nudity charges to be garnered on male individuals with no shirts on in transition.

The only penalty I know of for males without shirts is on the race course; this is not allowed.

Now if you want to change to donkey pants.....the port-o-potties would be a much safer bet.

Belize breeze - 2010-07-12 12:18 PM HI,

Was it deep! I don't know why I am so nervous about the swim. I have pre-race jitters!

No worries I'm flipping out, too. And I'm especially not thrilled that I'm second to the last wave out I believe....that's not nice at all.

Trixie...unless you are a 35-39 male, you are actually with me, in the third to last wave (well, I guess second, if you count the males 35-39 as one, but it was broken up into two waves.)
