Shoeless - 2010-05-15 11:05 PM Our Masters swim leader is going to Sudan for six months with Doctors Without Borders, so this morning was our last group swim with her. She will be without swimming water for six months! Can you imagine? We were already a loosely organized group; hopefully we'll be able to hold ourselves together until she comes back.

Very cool organization!  Not sure going someplace that is without water to swim sould be fun but the work she'll be doing is so much more important than a swim!

I guess I'll call my run a recovery workout. My legs are still achy from yesterday's ride so I took it easy and kept it a little short.

Hey Ladies! After being MIA for most of the week (at least on BT) I'm back...  It was a long week of traveling to Buffalo for my husband's grandfather's funeral and trying to catch up on the usual stuff.

I did get some workouts inlast week but it certainly wasn't my best week.  I tried to make up for some of my slacking with a run yesterday and a killer 40 mile bike today.  I went out and back...  it was a bad moment when I turned around and realized that there WAS a breeze and I was now going to be riding right into it for 20 miles.  And what I thought had been a nice, easy flat section was actually downhill slightly.  So I got to go against the wind and UPhill, when I wasn't trying to survive the rlling hills.  I'm just hoping it prepares me for "the beast" that starts off my Cayuga race in August!

I'm also running in the Corporate Challenge here this Thursday so I may take it easy (or at least easier) on Tuesday and Wednesday.  I really don't like embarassing myself too bad in front of coworkers.

Good morning team!

I had a fairly good training weekend... I went up to my friend's parents' house in Wisconsin to train in their area.  The lake was a little too cold to swim in (not that it stopped some of my friends from jumping in) but I did get a good bike/run brick in on Saturday.  Sunday my hip was bothering me a little from riding the hills, so I just did a trail run - definitely something I'm not used to doing since I live in the city!

Hello Group--Okay, I finally feel like I'm starting to pull my own weight around here.  I've had a few good workouts, but I still have some work to do on the bike.  I should squeak by with my goals this month.

Hey group!  Hope all is well with everyone.  Got in a nice bike ride this weekend.  Hoping for a couple of swims and runs this week.  The seat is getting tired of sitting on the seat.

Hey folks. Hope everyone had a great weekend.  I managed to get in a run on both days despite being on call.  Looking pretty good for meeting my goals.  A friend just emailed that she finished the Tour d'Afrique.  Puts my training in perspective.  It is a 4 month ride often on unpaved roads from Cairo to Capetown.  7375 miles!  Anyone interested can check out her blog here.

I need to get to the pool today...  Usually I try to go Tues nights since Hubby plays basketball on Mon and Wed, but today we have to go vote for the school budget.  And they have a strawberry festival with bounce houses, etc.  The kids are dying to go.  Maybe I'll bring my swim bag to wor and sneak out this afternoon for an hour...

pushing through an asthma flare up with a swim and core work today....run tonight will be an easy one.  Gonna switch up my plan so the interval work is later on after the pred kicks in better.

Wow. That's roughly 1844 miles per month for four months. Or about 61 miles per day for 120 days. Wow.

A strawberry festival? Hm. Nope. I am not going to Albany NY, not even for strawberries.

Ew. Asthma flare = bad.

I have a love/hate relationship with that pred. I love how it works. I hate everything else about it though.
