LOL then i can always get it out and wave it in his face later. actually, at my last race, he really really helped. he was the one that got me out the door every day for training. and encouraged me on the days when i would have rathered to stay in and lay on the couch. AND it was my best race with my best time ever. so when he WANTS to be supportive he's REALLY good at it. LOL (i still think the contract is a good idea though) They are full of surprises. Mine gave me all sorts of grif when I bought the road bike last year and I used 2 weeks PTO pay off to do it (sold back 2 weeks vacation). Go figure, he goes out and buys me a bike worth a couple months mortgage payments...I never would have bought it though and he would listen to me go on about Blues for the rest of our lives so he probably did it to keep me quiet. |

Think that's why I haven't lifted since last winter. I know after missing so much time it's going to hurt too much. |

It was awesome to be riding outdoors with a riding partner. Looks like it might work out for us to hook up about every other week. So, I'm 3 for 3 this week. Going for that second 6 so that I don't have to worry too hard when on vacation at the end of the month about getting in a full 30+ each day. Ooh i'm jealous. About the riding partner AND the vacation. Doing anything fun? Puerta Vallarta, Mexico. So yes, I would say fun. |

MotoQueen 13195 | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge lyssa-gator - 2008-11-12 11:27 AM ah, crap!! that was my 2000th post! and i FORGOT! i was so going to post something at least INTERESTING and i TOTALLY spaced it out. ok. 3000th post for SURE is going to be great!! LOL AND i was going to post on here two weird things that happened this week. #1 i told my dh (who's always been supportive of the tri thing, but NOT much else if you know what i mean. he sometimes mocks me about stuff) that i was starting to seriously consider doing a marathon in 2009. i've always known i would DO one, it was always just "later" but now i'm kind of getting serious about picking one out and actually training for it. so the surprising and weird thing about that is that dh was all over it. he always surprises me. LOL when i expect him to be kind of a jerk, he's super supportive and sweet, and when i expect him to be supportive he says something stupid like (i'm not joking he said this last season) "are you SURE they're not going to pull you out of the race?" so anyway, the weird thing #1 was that he was supportive. really supportive. and it was awesome. weird thing #2 was that when i DID talk to him about it. he said, "what's stopping you from doing an ironman in 09?" WTH!?!? i NEVER thought he would suggest such a thing!! anyway, the thing that's stopping me from doing IM in 09 is my kids. i think that the training required to do an IM is too much to try to handle when i have small kids. i think when they're older i'll TOTALLy do one. BUT anyway, then after i told DH that he said, well definately a half IM this year then right? ok. you guys don't know my dh, so this doesnt seem totally weird, but in my life, this is the equivelant of say someone proving that there's no such thing as GRAVITY!! LOL anyway, it was huge for me. so i think in about feb i'll pick one out and start training of a half!! YAY!! i'm excited about it!! Allright Lyssa. A half in 09, cool. And hubbys do surprise us all sometimes. |

Master 1726 Sacramento, California | Subject: RE: Mother Truckers Team Thread - Nov USMC Challenge Morning All- Well I went for my last run for 10-14 days this morning...and wouldn't you know it felt awful! Last Saturday I did 5 miles and a tiny 2.4 miler today nearly made me want to cry. So that is the memory I have to carry my through and somehow entice me to start running again in a couple weeks...well I guess I will just have to look at it as a way of finding vindication for this run today. |
