Is it 'allowed' to remove clothing during the race and give to family members? My plan was to start with a warmer top over the tri shirt and then take it off after the first lap once the air temp warms up.

DoloresM2 - 2009-09-03 4:14 PM I believe I've rented that course for 16:59:59 thank you very much!  Thanks for the tips on the bike course and the swim.

Dolores....  We can skip across the finish line as I will be right there with ya!!!  I don't have to pay half the 16:59:59 rental fee, do I?????

Lori..   "You want to do WHAT!??!?!?"...........

I did my first ever 'century' ride yesterday!  Wow...I now have a whole new respect for what we are about to do in November!  I felt really good up until mile 85 and then started to have foot pain.  I couldn't even imagine running a marathon yesterday after that ride! Surprised Yikes...good thing we have 11 more weeks to go!

Hope everyone's training is going well.  I am getting more and more confident I will make it to the start. Injuries are getting better, just much slower than I had hoped and expected. Did a 50 Miler and a short three mile run yesterday. This is the longest I have been able to do since my accident.

It is really fun to check out the Wisconsin race video.  Our turn is coming soon.

i had a build week this week. its been tough but i rocked it. my injuries are healing thankfully! glad to see you all are building too. i have augusta HIM in two weeks, but, sadly for my first HIM and one so close to home, it seems an afterthought. all i really consider it is another tough training day.

this was the week:
Swim Distance11850 yd
Bike Distance190.83 mi
Run Distance34.94 mi

Going well here - in the 2nd week of a 3 week build. Very bummed that the 2.4 mi OW swim race I was to do yesterday (my 1st time at that distance) was cancelled due to lightning, but I have a big BIG training week ahead and I'm ready to rock it. I too will be at Augusta but I decided I didn't want to deal with the hassle of flying my bike nor losing 1 training week to recovery at this stage, so I'll just be doing the swim leg and then turning in my chip and cheering for all my friends (I alraedy had plane tickets so I'm coming out there anyway).

I just got married yesterday!  :-) My training for this month is going to be a little (a lot) low, but with some extra time on my hands going forward, things will start bumping up again.  Yeah!  I hope everyone is doing great!

Can I just say that after volunteering at IMoo I am officially scared sh*tless?

The swim start looked brutal (and we've got a thinner channel to start, right?) and one chick came out looking like Rocky Balboa had kicked the crap out of her. And don't even get me started on the condition of some of the gals as they rolled into the T2 change room.

Oof.

I'm trying to focus on the memories of the finish line to wash away some of the bad imagery I had!

Keep in mind they were the exceptions.  Focus on the ones that were wearing brilliant ear to ear smiles Laughing

Just a quick post before bed... had 2 hr bike tonight after work and did 30 miles in 1:55.. Had 3:07 ride Sunday afternoon and got in 47 miles.. Got 5 hr ride Saturday with 2:30 hr run on Sunday... Coach is ramping me up for this month and next month.. I feel great after the rides and runs so I truct in his training judgement.  Sticking to a 6-day-a-week training schedule with all long stuff Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays..  Really looking forward to an 8 hr ride in a few weeks just to see how my butt deals with it..

Hope everyone is doing good and Jay, just like to was mentioned, think about the good things and the happy people that finsihed..  Trust in your training and all should be well.. As far as Rocky beating the crap out of me in the swim, is why I will be at the back and will let everybody else beat the crap out of each other..  I just want to get thru the swim.. After that I have a good a chance as anybody else to finish legal..  I will be the one lit up like a christmas tree on the run!!!

Some good pointers and tips about IMAZ on the other, "slightly less friendly" forum (ST).  Definitely worth checking out.  They answered some of the same questions that I had wondered about.

Yes, I think if we just let the horn blow on race day morning and count to 10 before starting to swim it will be less hectic in the water.
