Lumber Dad - 2010-12-07 9:23 AM Brewer and I got a 7 mile run in this morning, 13F with 9 mph wind. It was a nice run though.

You and brewer need to take shorter runs so others have a chance in this competition!!!!

Well, next Tuesday I go in for sinus surgery and won't be able to run for a week.

So if anyone is in the area and want to take him for a run, I am sure he would love that.

Things have warmed up a bit here. Our snow down from 2 1/2 feet to about 4 inches. At least it is cool enough for some frost this morning. First time in a week. It supposed to cool off enough to finally get some points tonight so maybe I'll head out for a run this evening.

We have been having great weather here, upper teens to lower twenties with nice 10-15 mph winds. Getting easy to rack up some serious points. The only problem I have is that my warm socks and my running shoes don't go well together.

It is all in the layers - I am normal just like the rest of you! LOL

I would think it must be a bit warmer than the rest of us!  So much that cool weather is a relief.  Do you hate the summer, perchance?

I had a good snowy, windy, cold run on Friday but haven't been back out since.  I was on a weekend trip and blissfully did not do any training.  Planning two more runs and hopefully a bike ride between now and Sunday.

It was 3 this morning when I left for work.  It's at the point of "how can I survive this cold all winter?" already, just for daily tasks - so the idea of putting on the running clothes is tough.  I cannot wait until we get through December and the sunlight starts coming back.

I got some more points today!

My MP3 player screamed a very high frequency into my ears today... does this mean that the temperature was too cold possibly? It was -8 celsius, which is about 17.5 fahrenheight.

The messed up MP3 player caused my HR monitor readings to go screwy... hoping that it's not broken. I'm off to test it now.

Mine is about 2 degrees cooler but I prefer the warmer weather. Like Bill says, its all in the layers. Layer up right and a bike ride or run in the snow can be quite enjoyable.

I don't usually run with an MP3 player. I lose my focus and it messes up my pace. I've learned to appreciate the peace and quiet of a solo run without any distractions.

I did my first 4 months of training music free. I appreciate both sides and decide day to day whether I want to bring it or not. Now it looks like not will be more likely the answer for awhile since I'm afraid of a repeat of today's event.

I ran for two winters on many many many many days below -20 c for more than 2 hours at a time and had no problems with my sansa player. That being said the Sansa player is a crap music player....but....it is cheap, and replaceable, and if it lasts 2 years then what the hell right.

thought I would drop in and say that I am back...I think.

Had a touch of bad luck with a DVT in my arm which has pretty much sidelined me from doing anything but walking and maybe a slow shuffle. Probably won't be putting in any long workouts for a while but looking forward to logging some "crappy" walks.

Could someone explain to me why when I simply login under google docs as btchallenge I do not see the spreadsheet...but I do see the spreadsheet if I click on the link on the first page in the forum?

If anyone knows how to move it - please do.  I just go to page 1 everytime and click on the link there.

You would think after all of the challenges I have done I would know how to run a spreadsheet but I don't!

Its no longer hidden so you should be able to see it when you log in without having to go to the hidden folder.

Them are some awfully fine lookin stars you got yourself there Buffalo Bill. You gonna go for a third yellow one this month? That would mean you would lose a heck of a lot of stars.

I just barely squeezed in some points on my afternoon ride today. It got cold enough for the last 15 minutes of the ride so with a little wind I got a whole 30 points for the month. Oh well. I had a good week in November. I'm sure things will cool down soon enough.
