I went on vacation and while playing tackle frisbee with my brother, he elbowed me right in the sternum and now I feel like Michael Vick. Like Michael Vick? You mean you feel overpaid, and prone to injuries? Nicely played. |

I wish I had something more for you but bruises need to just heal on their own for the most part.
I've been chugging Ibuprofen and I can immediately tell when it starts to wear off. It's been almost a week and it still hurts when I take a deep breath. It's really killing my running right now. You sure its just a bruise?
There's no visible bruising and I don't think it's much more than that. Last Wednesday I tried to tackle my brother and caught an elbow to the chest which I noticed, but it wasn't too bad at the time. Then the next day it was very sore. I don't think it's worth going to the Dr. over though. I managed a 15+ mile run on it on Saturday. The Ibuprofen does make it manageable, but when it wears off I feel like everything I do pulls on it. |

Well and smacking your brother around for throwing elbows.

X=rays showed a small a fracture ... and the only thing I could do was take something for pain and rest it up like you would any other type of bone fracture. So either way not much you can do. Mine was a bigger impact .. was forcefully pushed forward and I slammed square between my bewbs into the corner of a bookcase. Owwwwwieeee. I healed up though. I have a marathon in just over a month and I'm hoping I don't have to suffer through this while I do my longest runs. I think I'll start trying to ice it tonight. |

Separated my sternum from my ribs on one side once trying to haul around about a ton and a half of oil on a 1 ton pallet jack. That took forever to heal!!! You can still feel the slight depression in my chest where they didn't come back together quite correctly. |

um... ok... I mean, if you insist... Well then all you have to do is feel along the line where my ribs meet my sternum and you will feel where there is a little depression about half way up. |

um... ok... I mean, if you insist... Well then all you have to do is feel along the line where my ribs meet my sternum and you will feel where there is a little depression about half way up. Law of conservation: For each depression, there are equal bumps formed while examining. |

No, I's scared of that. I mentioned something big (that's public, by the way, completely public and available to everyone), assuming that everyone had already seen it, because again, it is public, but apparently it was just me who noticed, and opened a MASSIVE can of worms in my little circle. |
