SSMinnow - 2010-02-24 10:39 AM Since I am a semi scardy cat in real life (I brake going downhill on my bike) I think I would like to do women's downhill skiing...basically like to be the Lindsey Vonn type...see what it is like to be tall, blonde and fast....the man would be in heaven on all fronts .

No racing for me this weekend - last weekend was a wash-out for me (really the lightening kept me away...)  Olympic sport?  SPEED SKATER!!!  Not short track - the real deal like Eric Heiden!   (Did that just date me?)

Heiden also ended up as founding member of the 7-11 racing team back in the early 80's...   I remember him in riding in the TdF - but he DNF'ed....

No racing this weekend... Olympic sport? Does it have to be winter???

Let's see... I'd love to be a female downhill skier (glad I didn't say male, huh?!) because what they do is amazing and I wish I could ski like that. But with that said, I keep wondering if they are on the edge of control and how that feels (good? panic? adrenaline rush?), and I'm totally not a thrill-seeker when it comes to being fast like that (I brake going down big hills on my bike when I get above 35mph!). But a piece of me wishes I weren't such a wimpy- and I just love watching them ski. My blood pressure sky-rockets as I fear each one will crash, but I love love love watching them go. Amazing.

Otherwise, the athlete in me would enjoy being a x-country skier, but they get so little glory. So I'd probably have to be a speed-skater instead, the longer distance the better.

And I think the (female) ice skaters have beautiful legs.

Does it have to be a winter olympic sport? Well assuming it is, I'd go with snow boarding half pipe those tricks are RAD! Looks like fun!

My swim tonight went very well:
WU: 4x100 (Swim, Fist Drill, Swim, Fist Drill) (1:39, 1:59, 1:41, 2:02) Not bad for warmup sets
MS: 8x100 (25 Easy, Build, Easy Hard) - Started each on the 2 minute mark, but here are the splits for the swim times:
1:35, 1:35, 1:32, 1:32, 1:35. 1:36, 1:36, 1:35

Bike ride again was tweaked to a 230 LT wattage and ran for about 70 minutes building each 10 minute subset by 5%

I am going to contact Garmin tomorrow as I believe to have narrowed my issues down to the 310 head unit since the PT head unit gets data properly, its the 310 that is losing connection with the hub.  I had to have it on the top tube about half way back to get a solid signal.

My legs are just fried tonight and tomorrow luckily is a swim and light run.

I'm in the same boat but only 2 kids snug as a bug.  I also managed to squeeze in a trainer ride that was interrupted not once but twice.  First to get a blue blankie out of the dryer for my daughter before she had a melt down and another time to clean up dog .  So lovely - why can't life be simple!!!!!!!  Ok I'm done whining.

Serious props to single parent triathletes.  I can't imagine going at this alone.  Well, I could but it might mean one sprint and one 5k a year.

I know what you mean.  I'm struggling to keep up w/ everything since I added another 1/2 day back at work.  4 days in the office is killing me and wrecking my house.  And I didn't think the house could get worse.

I know what you are saying though. Couldn't imagine trying to do anything for myself if I was a single parent. It would be work-dinner-play-kids in bed- then couch.
I think its hard too sometimes....My wife is training a bit as well, so it is important to her to get her 'time.' Balancing is so key but yet so hard to maintain.

On a lighter note--trainer ride during the hockey game tonight!!! Thx for coming Ovie!! At least he isn't in a Caps uni right now Tony/Sam.
