fattyfatfat - 2010-02-24 8:06 PM i'm flying solo tonight.  can i log a sick baby and two whipper snappers have full tummy's and are currently snug as a bug in rug. c'mon.  thats gotta be worth something.  right!

A+ Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm in the same boat but only 2 kids snug as a bug.  I also managed to squeeze in a trainer ride that was interrupted not once but twice.  First to get a blue blankie out of the dryer for my daughter before she had a melt down and another time to clean up dog .  So lovely - why can't life be simple!!!!!!!  Ok I'm done whining.

A+ Mom!!!!!!!!!!!!

Serious props to single parent triathletes.  I can't imagine going at this alone.  Well, I could but it might mean one sprint and one 5k a year.

I know what you are saying though. Couldn't imagine trying to do anything for myself if I was a single parent. It would be work-dinner-play-kids in bed- then couch.
I think its hard too sometimes....My wife is training a bit as well, so it is important to her to get her 'time.' Balancing is so key but yet so hard to maintain.

On a lighter note--trainer ride during the hockey game tonight!!! Thx for coming Ovie!! At least he isn't in a Caps uni right now Tony/Sam.

I hear Crosby wasn't much better!  ;-)

I'm actually more of an Ovie fan. We've heard about Crosby since he was 6 years old....He's so blahhhh. Ovie is great for the game. But they hit him hard last night and shut him down.

jvanis - 2010-02-24 8:38 PM My swim tonight went very well:
WU: 4x100 (Swim, Fist Drill, Swim, Fist Drill) (1:39, 1:59, 1:41, 2:02) Not bad for warmup sets
MS: 8x100 (25 Easy, Build, Easy Hard) - Started each on the 2 minute mark, but here are the splits for the swim times:
1:35, 1:35, 1:32, 1:32, 1:35. 1:36, 1:36, 1:35

 [/QUOTE

terrific times.  but you seem to be having pacing issues?  is it on the easy or build/hard?

Is a 4 second difference considered pacing issues?  I am not sure where in the set it would be from, it could be any of them, Some of the hard segments felt better than others, and the builds are hard to tell.

I had a few very poor flip turns that caused me to not come off the wall as well as I should have.

and how about those Canadian bobsled women. Gold and Silver. What a great event. Loads of action and thankfully nobody seriously hurt. I don't think I have ever seen so many turn overs in one bobsled event. When the one sledder came out of the sled on a turnover I was really hoping she wasn't sliding too fast and go over the edge. I'm pretty sure she ened up with an good ice burn though.

How about the Russian hockey team's comment after the game. " It was like the Canadians opened a cage full of gorillas and let them go at it "   Loved it

Overall a great day for us Canucks. 4 medals. 1 gold 2 silver and a bronze in long track speed skating.

What the heck are those things all over Lance's Jersey???  Are they to induce drag or are they there to show the flow of air around him on the ride?  Or some kind of really bad fashion statement???

Hey, guys, I'm out of hiding.  Drywall starts today in that old farmhouse so I can relax...

anyhow, resting heart rate is often discussed as a good measure of fitness...anyone ever track and compare HR/pace?  My (HR/pace(in seconds)) is a little under .25.  Theoretically this number should trend up as fitness increases.
Anyone ever played with such a thing?
Is there a way to get the data out of the training logs to do this analysis?

My 6 yo has something like that on her Barbie bike.  I use them to gauge air flow.

Saw a vid the other day which compared his position now to his previous position.  He actually has a lower position now, and those trailers attached to him show turbulent and smooth ariflow.

Instead of getting a bento box or something like that for my bike, I am just going to use my 4-years old Princess basket.
Those things make Lance look like a little rodeo gal with his tassles.

Never heard of such a thing, but would be interested to know what it does for you.  I do know the CT has something called Pulsepower, but no idea if it is similar.  Once I get in season, I will start tracking RHR everyday, but mainly as a means to determine that I'm not overtraining....

I have no idea what you guys are talking about right now but will catch up later.  Just got done doing hill repeats and for most of them I go down the backside of the hill which isn't as steep and has a lot less traffic however the last one always deserve the big down hill.  I was thinking I don't know what Suzy and the others were talking about when breaking down hill because I love to fly.  Then it hit me...the crosswinds from hell.  My life flashed before my eyes.  My phone was dead so I left it at home and I didn't take ID with me so..I was going to die when I realized maybe I wasn't meant to be a downhill skier afterall.  Nevermind that I snow plow all the hills anyway.

Well I'm off to pick up little ones to take to the baseball field again so he can get his practice in before I go to yoga.  Man, this balance stuff is hard.  Doesn't everyone know it's all about me?

Hope everyone is having a good one.

I just think it would be interesting to see.  During a run Tuesday I just got thinking about my in-run-heart-rate now vs when I was running a lot last fall.  That lead me to thinking about tracking the ratio of pace to HR.  I'm going to track them in a spreadsheet for a while to see what happens.  I may also track RHR just to see if the trend lines are similar.  The problem with RHR is I NEVER remember to check in the morning.

Yeah, I was looking at that video when I saw the one with those trailer things.  I think the first position was from the tour of california last year and he is a lot lower now vs. then.

Awesome, love the KK, I have plenty of miles on mine so far.  If only I could get this damn PT/Garmin combo working better.
